We were on a road trip, and fortunately we only stayed one night at the House on the Hill. Very spartan, uncomfortable and cost-effective. Nothing fits together. In the bathroom, it smells like drainage, the '90s shower cabin is fading, the curtains are stained, two out of three lamps lack the light bulbs and the sofa beds aren't even shaken. A very strange ambience. For 320€ per night, it's a real freak.

Worse than I thought

When we got to the place we thought we had the wrong address: we found ourselves in front of a half-roofed and abandoned house. The apartment we rented was really basic and we thought it wasn't worth the asking price. The TV had only one channel (if there is a service, that service must work). There were several useless lamps because they didn't have the light bulb. We asked to prepare our bed couch but it wasn't done. As soon as we opened the bedroom door, the handle was left in our hand. From the photos on the site it looks like the apartment enjoys an excellent view but we had a walled window, a window that looked out onto someone else's terrace and the other window that looked out onto a piece of pipe with others and are ok. but not for more than one night.

It worked for one night.  The rooms and the shared bathroom were cleaned. They left breakfast in the fridge...bread, jam, cold cuts, and veggies.  Basic, but we knew that before arriving. It was very loud with other house guests coming and going.

It is a GUESTHOUSE!

Fantastic stay! The caretaker was really welcoming and helpful. He offered us their best room even though we had ordered a smaller one. The view of the mountains from the window was amazing and the town is very cute.

Great location and warm room. Really cozy house. But little bit uncomfortable kitchen. There is no stoves.

Best place in Höfn

Warning!! Double payment!!! We reserved two rooms by Booking and when we arrived at the guesthouse they told to us that one room was not charged by problems with the credit card, so we have to pay one room with another credit card. Days after I check my bank account and they have charged the two rooms so we paid three rooms instead the two we have booked. I contact the manager and she told me that she was going to take a look that it should be a mistake, I phoned her later and no answer, I wrote them a lot of mails and no answer, they have stolen us 140 euros, we make a complain by Booking and we are waiting fir the answer. Be so carefull with this people!!.

Great location, easy to find, super clean and the staff was amazing. The attendant greeted us outside of the property and gave us a quick tour. I highly recommend this stay! 10/10

We stayed here for one night; they were able to accommodate our late check-in after I called ahead. Someone met us at the door and showed us around. The place was very clean. Our room was big enough to lay our our suitcases. Not having stayed in many places with shared bathrooms, I was a bit worried; however, the night we stayed there were only 2 other people so there was no issue. There were several parking spaces right in front of the building.

Nice, clean guesthouse

Very clean and neat property. The corner rooms are a bit larger. Bathrooms are shared on each floor and are spotless. Same goes for kitchen facilities ( no stove but there is a microwave). I would ask for a room on second floor as the rooms next to the kitchen may be noisier if there are people preparing food at night/early morning. Friendly staff.
