The cottages are in a wonderful position, along an enchanting fjord. The road to reach them is quite long after leaving the ring road, with many kilometers without asphalt, and dangerous if done at night with fog (as happened to us).

Beautiful position, a little difficult to reach

We were there as a group of 4 friends. Location is more than amazing. There are two little wooden houses, each one fully equipped, they have even BBQ outside the house! And big terrace with the perfect view on Mjóifjörður. The owner - nice lady living near the houses. The place is so remote that you can think of it almost as your own. I would like to come back there someday. You're just gonna need good car, SUV or something, because there is only gravel road - like 30km from ring road.

The perfect place at the fjord

We stayed in one of the cottages in Solbrekka and were enchanted by the place, the location is wonderful, and the cottage is warm and romantic, well furnished and very clean, and we had a really pleasant evening that warmed our bodies and souls during our trip to Iceland, and the kitchen is furnished with everything, and the balcony was especially appreciated by my daughters.

A romantic and cozy house

Even though we stayed here on a rainy day, it's a real corner of paradise. The apartment is a small independent house with every comfort (kitchen, boiler, microwave, dishes, pots) with a view of the fjord, really characteristic. My girls really enjoyed the backdrop, where they slept. The house also has a BBQ, which we didn't use for bad weather. The road to get there is rather steep, steep with several climbs and descents to the top of the sea... but the landscape that is absolutely worth the trip! For us it was an unforgettable destination.

A corner of paradise in a rough part of Iceland

The road leads to this town through a fjord, the road itself is dirt, but very beautiful (many waterfalls). It is better to drive in a jeep, sedans have also arrived, but I think the people were a little shocked by the road.. From the cottage you can see the neighboring mountain and river. The amenities in the house: bathroom, kitchen, heating, Wi-Fi (signal is weak). On the porch there is a gas grill, you can bake meat or fish there.. Bank cards are accepted.

It's a scenic road, but it's not easy.

We, in particular, stayed in a cabin for 4 / 5 people. Made of wood, with a lot of charm. Fully equipped and overlooking a spectacular fjord. The site, offers you an indescribable dawn.

A place to lose.

we enjoyed staying in this place with warm relationship with the family - would like to send pictures -please contact us - we appreciated the quiet area and had a beautiful sun .... yes yes - the surrounding is really relaxing we should have stayed longer.....

we really liked it

We weren't in the cottages that I think are great. We were in the main batch rooms, ultra old. Mediocre WiFi. Very bad service by one employee asking us to pay when our room wasn't even ready. The sheets are paid apart. We met the landlord the next day who was much more sumptuous. The corner on the other hand is exceptional with superb hikers doing less.

We spent 2 nights at 4 in one of the two cottages. The situation is just sublime, when the weather is clear, there is a beautiful view of the whole fjord, it is paradise! The cottage is very well equipped and very friendly, it is probably one of our big favorites on our two-week trip! There is also the possibility of using the hot tub I highly recommend it!!!

It is a paradise.

Little cottage on the top of the mountain. Three cute and clean. Parental room and mezzanine corner for kids. Beautiful scenery. Everything you need to get your food. Too bad the wifi is only in the common room that's at least 10 good minutes' walk away.
