I go to Guatemala fairly often and I have been to Panajachel many times.  Blue Mayan Hotel is a great place to stay.  As another reviewer stated, it is a home away from home.  
I stayed here once before and it was a nice stay.  This was my second time here and it was better than the first.  The staff is very friendly and helpful.  The rooms are spacious and very clean.  
The restaurant at the hotel is quite good and the restaurant service is better than what I typically see at home.
The location is very good.  It is a little ways off the main street so you don't get the noise but it is close enough to walk to anything in town.  The municipal docks (where the public boats / water taxis are) are a short walk away.
Personally, I am fascinated with the Mayan history and culture.  So for me, the museum they have there is of great interest.  When I would have some time at the hotel when I wasn't doing anything, I often found myself looking at the artifacts and reading on some of the history.
All in all, this is a very relaxing place to stay and a great value for the price.

Wonderful place to stay.

My room was very large and very clean, everything was perfect, the delicious breakfast, a five-minute walk from the harbor to take the boat, a five-minute walk from the stunning view of the lake and its volcanoes, a must to uncover.

Super hotel, super comfort in the center of Panajachel

The Hotel was good and the service was good too! It was so close to the marina you can just walk anywhere you want, and since it is so close, the tuc tuc rides are really cheap (in case you dont want to walk back to the hotel because it’s cold). The only thing i would say is, unfortunately we didn’t have a remote for the tv because it was broken, and there were like those little ants in the nightstand, but otherwise its a good choice for a hotel, the rooms are nice, its close to the Santander street, (which is like where everything is, so that means less walking and less use of tuc tucs), the price is also good, it’s not cheap but not super expensive either! The lady at the reception was nice and she could tell us how to get to places. The room we stayed in was called Tikal room which is like a suite, but they have normal rooms too. Overall my experience was good staying here!

So cozy!

Now that I'm in Pajanachel, my friends and I decided to stay at the Blue Mayan Hotel, the images speak for themselves! I loved the truth, the attention the place is very comfortable and I commented that it is like a house because it has only 5 rooms and very comfortable a lot of privacy, and the attention is top notch.

A cozy hotel.

This is a  beautiful place! It does not feel like a hotel but like a home away from home. The service is superb and extremely polite. It is located in a quiet street; however, it is close to the attractions and restaurants nearby. The fact that it is also a museum makes  it even more charming.

Amazing Place!

It is a small hotel with few rooms in a residential building in a central but quiet location. The rooms are huge and nicely furnished. The place also offers a small restaurant and coffee bar. Price quality relationship is very good. So I can recommend it for a stay in Panajachel.

Nice discovery

The room we chose is very spacious, with a double bed, a large closet, garden view, a clean, large and ventilated bathroom, with a TV and two comfortable armchairs, has wifi. There are few rooms that make you feel at home, the three workers and Adriana are very friendly and attentive to what you need. Including breakfast, three options considered within the rate but there are more options with extra cost if you are a masón like us, the food, quality and presentation are very good. If this is your first visit alone, it is a very nice place to embark and get to know the other villages on the lake.

An excellent option to explore the lake.

We stayed in La Danta room and we loved it. 
The room is very big and the king size bed is good quality with great back support. 
Hot water, towels, shampoo, and soap was provided. 
Centrally located yet, nice and quiet. They shut down the bar/restaurant around 10 pm so guests can get good rest. Breakfast was good (the oatmeal is amazing) and plenty for me but I tend to eat small breakfast anyways. 
Adriana can give you some good tips about activities in the area. 
The house museum is a great addition to this beautiful family owned B&B.

Stayed in La Danta Room

Blue Mayan is a very clean hotel located close to the central street, yet very quiet. The owners and the staff are very nice and polite. Big and comfortable rooms. If you decide to spend some time in Panajachel, I do recommend this property.

Very nice hotel in Panajachel

Lunch in the garden accompanied by the singing of birds, hammock, chairs and armchairs in the garden, very nice room with garden view and a large bathroom, very clean and I'm punchy, excellent service, the owner and his right arm Kevin are taking care of us and what's important is located on a quiet street near the lake, restaurants and two places to take the boats. A good hotel restaurant really perfect. Our best internet in Guatemala. We stayed for a week and it's hard to leave.
