Aegean Villas

First, I have to say that Babis is an amazing host. I lost my wallet in a taxi on our last night (!) and he really put himself out helping me recover it and even got it to me in Athens the next day, all without asking for anything in return. This act of generosity really made my trip, not just because I got my wallet back intact but because Babis was so helpful and kind. This is the best of what we can be as human beings. This kind of hospitality and care extended to our stay at Aegean Villas, both from Babis and from the terrific Nertila who showed us into our apartment. Babis gave us great food recommendations (I recommend the Old Platanus in town, and also the Garden Taverna). We didn't try Andreas Family restaurant, but that also looked wonderful. We had a second floor balcony apartment with a view of the sea. We loved having meals out on the balcony. The Odyssey is just a few steps away with a delicious and generous buffet breakfast. A few more minutes up the hill are the supermarket, outstanding Colonna bakery, and a bike rental shop. The apartment is very clean, spacious and both open to the light and able to be cooled with darkening curtains. What I loved best was the sea right outside your door. You can be in the water in about 90 seconds, and there's a good stretch of water for swimming along the shore. Heaven.
