Our ground floor apartment was v quiet, clean & all we needed. The pool area is amazing, the busiest day was 12 people (incl us) so always enough beds & no hideous queueing like Spain! The bar is great, Kostas was brilliant, food v reasonable, good choice & excellent standard. Cocktails 5e so cheaper than resort. Rooms cleaned 6x a week, shower quite tiny but ok. Maria the owner was always around if u had a problem, as was Kostas the barman. We had no problems with the security guy who was always helpful & polite. It took us 12 mins to walk to the nightlife. So had the best of both worlds, quiet, peaceful & plenty of bars & restaurants within 5 min walk to the apartments on Stalis beach road or 12 mins to Malia. Don't leave without going to Malia old town. It is beautiful & a world away from the bars, clubs & fast food of Malia beach road yet just across the road . San Giorgio restaurant is stunning & Sopato had brilliant food too & free cocktails from Spiros! Try Giannis bar on the corner, amazing roof terrace, or sit outside & watch the world go by, again amazing cocktails (8e). We didn't have a bad meal in 9 nts, Elia on Stalis beach rd did fantastic pizzas. Haven't been to Malia for 15 yrs & the beach road is looking tired & not as vibrant, It's more condensed now, around Zig Zags club area & much younger crowd, (18-20 yr olds poss due to the time end of A' levels) If you're looking for a chilled holiday yet close to nightlife, beach & restaurants then Manolis is perfect
