- some of the staff was friendly and helpful
- there were drinking water dispensers 
- late checkout was no problem
- the food at the restaurant was good though it can take a long time until the food is ready. they got ginger juice after i asked for it. 
- the bed is extremely comfortable, great pillows and duvet. the curtain darkens the room properly

- sheets were dirty when I arrived, they didn’t change them until the next day
there was also just one towel
- you have specifically ask for everything that should be provided automatically here and it takes a long time until they bring it
 i asked whether there are slippers in the room when I checked in and was told they could provide them. It took them 45 min to bring the slippers and when they came, I saw the slippers were already used and brown and dirty. disgusting- who gives their guests old slippers from previous guests??? I wouldn’t be sure that the towels you get here are clean either…

- so many things are broken, not maintained and not working in the hotel. in my room: some lights did not work, the shower handle was broken so i could only shower cold until they fixed it the next day, the aircon kept switching off at night displaying and error message

the door of my room was not closing properly, you had to shut it with force. when they cleaned my room and they fixed the shower, THEY LEFT THE DOOR OPEN. anyone could enter my room and steal my valuables until i returned 

i put the DO NOT DISTURB sign and the cleaning staff STILL ENTERED MY ROOM and moved my things. just unbelievable

bad internet, impossible to work sometimes

also the gym, it’s not serviced, no towels, no soap, broken machines, missing  dumbells, not safe

i could actually go on about other things that happened but you get the point. last time i was here I gave the hotel a 9/10 and recommended it to my colleagues. i was excited to stay here again but they really disappointed me. I can’t recommend it to anyone no more, please avoid this hotel and look for alternatives

The location of the property is the worse. The hotel doesn’t have a family suite as advertised on hotel.com. My kids had to sleep in a separate room. Everything is disgusting for a hotel this price in Ghana. Toilet is stained so are the bath walls. The food is horrible.

Do not go there!!!!

Beautiful modern hotel, very clean and with great views. Room was nicely decorated and spacious enough. You can see a lot of investments was made on the infrastructure. However, it was really quiet and there was not much in terms of entertainment. Buffet breakfast was also average.

Nice hotel for a business trip

Comfortable stay at a modern hotel with excellent staff and food. The rooms are spacious and hot water plentiful. The room staff came and cleaned every 2 days or on demand. The hotel has a whatsapp group monitored 24/7 if something is a miss or you need extra towels, they are ready to help.

Quarantine stay for 3 days

I spent two nights at the Protea Hotel, Takoradi recently. As the driver pulled up at the gate/entrance it took quite a while for the Security chap to appear and let us drive in. I got a room upgrade after negotiating a two day stay (as against one which had been initially booked). Room looked good but missed the smaller details - there was no bin, no extra towel. There was however a carton of water in the room and abundant tea, milk supplies. There was also an abundance of shampoo and soap in the bath room. For the buffet breakfast, food items were not labelled and for juice you had to try to decipher what kind of juice was being served. The dining area looked really nice and you could tell the hotel invested a lot into the general ambience. I think regular trainings and some Mystery Shopper research would help the hotel get true feedback of their service from the eyes of the customer and help improve any weak service areas.

Great Ambience

Great Hotel with pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. Food was great and assistance, when required, was available in a blink of an eye. The atmosphere was excellent, all day every day. Breakfast buffet is tops and the coffee that goes with it is as much needed as the smiles you see first thing in the morning. Definitely the number one spot to stay in Takoradi.Thanks for making every stay a pleasant and wonderful, unique experience!

Great Hotel and ticks all the boxes

I chose this hotel for a 3-night weekend in Takoradi during a business stay in Ghana. Located not far from the sea at the end of the beach road, access is by an unpaved road and rather in poor condition. Surprisingly! Nice home, comfortable standard room with the necessary basic equipment. A minimalist TV bouquet without a French-speaking channel. Very medium-sized in-room Wi-Fi for this type of establishment A. Improve urgently! No ATM in the hotel although a few are located away from the city, I have to take a taxi to get cash.
