Hotel Oderberger Berlin

I stayed at the Oderberger on my own for a week, and then my spouse joined me for a week. Definitely a place I was comfortable with staying on my own, as a 70 year old woman. So much to say about this wonderful hotel. I had an accessible room (it was the cheapest) and it was quiet and comfortable. I had worried because it was labelled as "subterranean" but it had large windows and plenty of light. The breakfast is SPECTACULAR and not to be missed, in a lovely, quasi-industrial space. Getting around the hotel takes a little getting used to because it is comprised of two separate buildings, and I got a little lost the first day finding my way to breakfast. But once sorted, all was great. The staff were incredibly nice. Everyone speaks english but they were all very patient and kind with my German. They let me practice! The bar area is delightful, and the cocktails are good. Finally you are in a fantastic neighborhood near restaurants and the tram to Hakescher Markt and beyond. The Ubahn is also right near by. I was the oldest person everywhere I went, but I loved the energy of Prenzlauer Berg, which I knew from its past in the GDR. Exciting to see it so rejuvenated and hip! Totally recommend this hotel. Bis bald!
