En pocas ocasiones tu mente se llega a evadir tanto que te olvidas realmente de donde estás. Para alcanzar este clímax, es necesario conseguir paz interior, romper con tu rutina y olvidarte de tus preocupaciones laborales. Es así cuando se consigue llegar a un estado pleno de relajación en el que consigues descansar realmente. Este estado de plenitud, de “mindfulness”, es muy difícil de conseguir fuera de tu ambiente, de ese entorno que es conocido por ti y suele ser tu rincón de escape. Si bien, cuando llegas a relajarte es tan alta que te renuevas interiormente. Esto es lo que nos pasó a mí mujer y a mí. Y muy poca veces, contadas con una sola mano, - y mira que hemos viajado bastante-, hemos conseguido alcanzar este nirvana. En estos casos, me gusta detenerme y pensar cuáles han sido los ingredientes que lo han hecho posible. Hoteles de cinco estrellas hay muchos en el mundo, sin embargo, y desde mi punto de vista, muy pocas veces se puede llegar a calificar a un hotel como de verdadero lujo. Son varios los requisitos que se tienen que juntar. Pero no es suficiente con contar con estos recursos, sino que hay que saber explotarlos, y aquí nos metemos en el terreno de las capacidades y habilidades. Analicémoslas detenidamente, porque en este caso, merece la pena. The Farm at Cape Kidnappers es uno de los olimpos mundiales del verdadero lujo. El primer ingrediente necesario es: la exclusividad. La configuración del lugar, su ubicación, el trato entre los huéspedes y la búsqueda de aficiones comunes, donde sin lugar a dudas, destaca uno de los mejores campos de golf del mundo, hacen que la exclusividad de este hotel sea inherente a él mismo. Segundo ingrediente: la atmósfera. El ambiente que se irradia tanto en las habitaciones como en las zonas comunes, es fabuloso. Y no me refiero sólo a una excelente decoración, sino a la calidez de leer un libro frente a la chimenea, al disfrutar de tomar un champán en tu terraza privada, a un aperitivo antes de cenar con música clásica o conseguir alcanzar un sueño de tanta calidad que no te despierta nada y que a la mañana siguiente, si abres la ventana, sólo es interrumpido por la brisa del Pacífico y el balido de las ovejas. Y el tercer y más importante ingrediente, llamémosle: el protocolo en el servicio. Este factor, es el más importante de todos, es el que hace única una estancia. Y para explotarlo es necesario capacidad, habilidad, conocimiento y experiencia. En pocos lugares, creedme en lo que os digo, el cliente se va a sentir tan bien atendido. Una innovación continua, basada en adelantarse a las necesidades del cliente –que suelen ser muy complejas en huéspedes como nosotros-, una materia prima excelente, una cocina exquisita que innova la tradición del mercado con la vanguardia en los sabores, un trato y cuidado que va hasta el mínimo detalle –desde la lavandería hasta todas las comodidades existentes en la habitación y en el cuarto de baño-, hacen de este lugar una obligación para quien busca evadirse. No puedo terminar sin agradecer tanto a Kris Shepherd (nunca un apellido fue tan adecuado “para un gerente de una granja”) como a todo su equipo, los tres espectaculares días que nos hicieron pasar a mi mujer y a mí. No tengo palabras para la calidad del servicio ofrecido y el trato dispensado. La experiencia de pasear en Can-Am por toda la propiedad nos ha dejado imágenes en nuestra mente que no olvidaremos jamás. On a few occasions, your mind rarely get to escape while you really forget where you are. In order to reach this climax, it is necessary to achieve inner peace, break with your routine and forget about your work worries. This is only when you get to a full state of relaxation in which you get to really rest. This state of "mindfulness", is very difficult to get outside of your “sanctuary”, of that environment that is known to you and is usually your escape corner. Although, when you get to relax, it is so high that you renew inside. This is what happened to my wife and me. And very rarely, counted with just one hand, - and we have traveled a lot -, we have managed to achieve this nirvana. In these cases, I like to stop and think about which ingredients have made it possible. There are many five star hotels in the world, however, and from my point of view, in very few occasions it can be qualify a hotel as true luxury. There are several requirements that must be combined. But it is not enough to have these resources, but you have to know how to exploit them, and here we get into the terrain of skills and capabilities. Let's analyze them carefully, because in this case, it's worth it. The Farm at Cape Kidnappers is one of the world olimpos of true luxury. The first necessary ingredient is: exclusivity. The configuration of the place, its location, the treatment between guests and the search of common hobbies (where, undoubtedly, one of the best golf courses in the world stands out), they make that the exclusivity of this hotel were inherent in itself. Second ingredient: the atmosphere. The atmosphere that radiates both in the rooms and in the common areas, is fabulous. And I do not mean just an excellent decoration, but the warmth of reading a book in front of the fireplace, to enjoy drinking a champagne on your private terrace, to an aperitif before dinner with classical music or to achieve a dream of such quality that you do not wake up at all and that the next morning, if you open the window, it is only interrupted by the Pacific breeze and the bleat of the sheep. And the third and most important ingredient, let's call it: the protocol in the service. This factor, is the most important of all, it is the one that makes a stay unique. And to exploit it you need capacity, skill, knowledge and experience. In a few places, believe me in what I say, the client will feel so well cared for. A continuous innovation, based on anticipating the client's needs -which tend to be very complex in guests like us-, an excellent raw material, an exquisite cuisine that innovates the tradition of the market with the vanguard in the flavors, a treatment and care that goes to the smallest detail -from the laundry to all the existing amenities in the room and in the bathroom-, they make this place an obligation for those who seek to escape. I cannot finish without thanking Kris Shepherd so much (never a surname was so appropriate "for a farm manager ") as to all her team, the three spectacular days that they made pass to my wife and me. I have no words for the quality of the service offered and the treatment provided. The experience of ride in Can-Am throughout the property has left images in our mind that we will never forget.
