We stayed 2 weeks at Miss Loi's Guesthouse, it's a great place to stay if you're planning on staying a long time. It's close to the busy streets, less than 5minutes with a bike, but the street itself is quiet. The rooms are clean and confy. The staff is lovely, always willing to help and give good recommendations. 

Great stay

I stayed two nights and it was good, WIFI, Aircon, Fridge and everything works fine, Good location in District 1 and walking distance for Bue Vien Street. They accept Credit Cards and also has laundry service but it takes 2 days hehe

Nice and big room and good price

We stayed 1 night and was not happy, firstly we booked a room on second floor after hauling our large luggage up 2 floors we couldnt find our room, when we went to the reception we were told we should have gone up the second staircase, great we had to drag suitcases down 2 floors and then up 2 more floors, furniture was broken, No good water pressure in bathroom, dogs barking and kids playing in the hotel until late in the evening, we found a better located and cheaper hotel, regret having pre-booked room at miss loi. Wont ever be back.

We’ve booked this place online, arrived at 5pm from Hoi An, only to be greeted with: I’m so sorry! We are fully booked....whoever runs this business is taking a total piss. I don’t recommend this place as it’s u reliable. We booked into nearby Ngoc Hue.

Stay away 

We booked a room at Miss Loi Guesthouse months in advance and had called the week before to confirm and also to let them know that we would be arriving at around 2am after an international flight. We were assured over the phone that our booking was fine, and that were was no need for a deposit (even though we offered) to guarantee it.

We arrived at the guesthouse at around 2am. When we arrived, the man downstairs at the guesthouse told us there was no room for us, even though we had a booking. We showed the man our booking in the booking.com app, with the confirmation number, but it made no difference.

We were desperately walking around at 2am with all our luggage to find another place to stay for that night (all hotels on the same lane were full) and then we wasted time the next morning finding a different hotel to stay in for the rest of our stay in HCMC. All of this could have been avoided if Miss Loi guesthouse were honest and told us in advance that there was no room. They didn’t even help us to find another place to stay.

We couldn’t believe that what the man had said was right, so we went back at 9am the next day and spoke to the daytime receptionist, only to be told the same thing! Not “sorry we made a mistake “, just “sorry very busy”.

This was really bad, especially because it was 2am, Christmas Day and a very busy time for tourists.

Booked largest most expensive room. We check in, pay the top rate and after climbing 5 sets of stairs, we find out that we have been put in a standard room. Back to reception to be told that they have given the premium room to another traveller. After lengthy discussion, including phone call to owner, they agree to refund the difference in room prices. In summary, we book a premium room, we arrive and pay for the premium room, they knowingly put us in standard room and finally argue that we should pay for the premium room we didn't get.

Disappointing

Admittedly, it is a cheaper guesthouse in hcmc. The location is brilliant - you can walk around the touristy bits of the city easily or a short taxi ride will sort you out! View from the terrace is nice too.
that's where the praise ends.
Bed was hard as nails, bed frame creaking under our weight - a couple that collaboratively weigh just over 110kg. 
The room was not cleaned and clean towels were an extra fee if we wanted them. we were there for 4 days.
It rained very heavily one day (as it does) and upstairs the floors became incredibly slippery. you are not permitted to wear your shoes either.
. My partner fell over (which I thought was quite amusing as I had just warned her! she did not.) we told them that it needs drying - they said ok and when we came back 5 hours later still slippery and I almost went over! Not this time though.
If I had the time again I would have tried somewhere else and suggest you do too. Wi-Fi was terrible as well on the 4th floor. 

Poorly kept accommodation.

We stayed in August and arrived on the overnight train at 4.40 in the  morning. We walked and found our way quite easily from the train station, although it took about 30 mins. Luckily we were allowed to check in early to have a bit of a nap! The room was very basic but had a/c and a fan, so perfectly ok. It did however have a lot of very small ants on the windowsill and some had found their way to the bed. We were so tired by this point that we didn't really care. The place is a great location for getting around. We managed to walk to the war remnants museum, the main shopping district, the river, pham ngu lao street and pretty much all the main sights.
