The first time I came to Cat Cat, my grandmother randomly came to this hotel. It really did not disappoint us. The space is airy, the rooms are clean. The owner and staff here are enthusiastic and thoughtful. Absolute points. The view is very beautiful and beautiful. Romantic, suitable for you to relax and confide in each other, very comfortable and quiet when sleeping. I highly recommend you to come here to experience the experience.

Cat Ba central hotel 2 has a very kind and helpful staff, nice rooms, good beds, hot showers and lake view. And it was very cheap. They did not serve breakfast, but  that was not a problem because it was only a 5 minutes walk to the center where there were several good places to have a nice breakfast. Staying at this hotel was great value for money.

Nice rooms and great value for money

This is a good hotel and a safe choice. In a Tripadvisor universe without any grade inflation this is a four blob deal. True the breakfast is basic, but the rooms are comfortable, spacious and quiet. This hotel is set away from the party part of town, but is a mere 7 min. easy stroll from the heart of the action. The stuff works, the rooms are clean and the staff friendly and try to please, which in Vietnam is difficult as us bloody foreigners all seek to want something different from a property.

I would recommend this place to a friend.

There is a very good pub/restaurant 20 metres away to your left as you exit.

Avoiding Grade Inflation

James welcomed us with his beautiful smile and showed us the rooms before we agreed to stay! The rooms were spotless and the we had one of the best sleeps thus far on our trip to Vietnam. Great prices and a stones throw from everywhere! Definitely recommend this place. We got massages across the street and they were so lovely. They even gave us bread and bananas when we missed breakfast. Thank you James!

Fantastic service and clean rooms!

Less than average hotel at a relatively high price. Terrible service. It took us ages to get our room, the air conditioner does not work porperly (and it was very warm there) and we didn't have hot water in the shower, and the hotel manager just yelled at us for complaining. I would definitely advise to avoid staying here.

Just avoid

We had a comfortable night's sleep here before our boat tour. The room was clean and staff friendly. I thought the location was ideal as I prefer a short walk to the area in town with restaurants etc than the noise of being in the center. It was less than a five minute walk.
The photos led me to believe breakfast was included however there was no breakfast service. Having to eat in a cafe does make for a relatively expensive stay.

Fine for a short stay

We stayed 2 nights at the Catba Central Hotel 2 and were most impressed. We are travelling for a while and on a quick peruse of prices and reviews, we decided to try out this hotel. 
We booked a dormitory for 6 but unfortunately due to an accident, only 3 of us could show up. The hotel had blocked off the dorm so the shared bathroom would not be too busy with a full dorm (10 beds). The beds are firm but comfortable and benefit from a private “capsule hotel” feel with 5 walls and a curtain. The staff were most helpful - giving great recommendations and general chat. They speak wonderful English (which is great as my Vietnamese is nonexistent!). 
I would also recommend the boat trip offered (ran by catba local) for around 20 dollars - a long day of cruising, kayaking and swimming - with a lovely lunch included on ship. Highlighted by the fact it targets the more quieter areas of the bay! 
5/5 would highly recommend.
