Hotel Lafayette

This is the first time in the many years (since 2006) in staying at the Hotel Lafayette in Montevideo for periods of one week to one month, whereby I have decided to write a review. I always return to this hotel because it is central and within close walking distance to central Montevideo. The hotel is a bit dated although they have made nice renovations to the upper floors. It does however have a very nice small indoor pool with ultra warm water to relax after a long day about Montevideo. Most importantly, the front desk employees, the restaurant and all other staff, some who have been there for the many years I have been visiting the lovely city of Montevideo, are always most welcoming, professional, and helpful in ensuring that your stay is a very pleasant one. I feel in many ways that this Hotel has become my home away from home when in Montevideo as it has become a very important part of my visits to Montevideo and I always look forward to returning. Hotel Lafayette is close to my favourite Montevideo cafe - Cafe San Rafael. You exit the hotel, and go right a few feet until the intersection, then you proceed left for one short block past a newspaper office, and the Cafe San Rafael is at the next corner. Wonderful little local cafe with always excellent, delicious food, no matter what you order, and great service. Thank you everyone at the Hotel Lafayette in Montevideo, and I will say "hasta la proxima". A wonderful hotel, with great people working there.
