I received a call from Wilmington that our brother was very sick. I left immediately arriving in the late afternoon. I had no idea where to stay and limited funds. The Baymont had a room available at an affordable rate and was located near my brother's home. At first, I was hesitant about getting a room there as I arrived after dark and there were quite a few men in the area, and I was alone. I soon learned that these were men working with construction crews. They were no problem, early to bed and early to rise without any late noise. In fact, I felt safer knowing my room was sandwiched between two groups of these men. This became a theme while we were in the Wilmington area. Wilmington is booming. Working class men are everywhere during the week.
O.K. The Baymont is not the Ritz. My room was functional. The bed was very comfortable. They have done remodeling on a budget, in my opinion. Someone had to come and show me how to use the television. But everything worked and my needs were met. It is unrealistic to book a room at the Baymont expecting more than a basic setting.  But that bed was incredibly comfortable and that counted for something.
My brother had to stay with me the next night and we had to share the bed. He was desperately ill and, as a result, not easy to manage. I explained to the staff that he was with me and cautioned them not to be alarmed when they saw us leaving in the morning and here is the reason, I will never forget the Baymont and will always hold them close to my heart. 
I loaded the car to leave and went back into my room to get my brother. I knew it was not going to be easy, but the job had to be done. As I was leaving the room and was struggling to help my brother two women who were cleaning rooms came to my aid. Catherine and Lala! They took control and my brother let them. They were gentle with him and had him in his seat all the while encouraging him and keeping him safe.  CATHERINE AND LALA! You are the best and you were angels to me that day! Many of you reading this review will understand the power of kindness when it is offered to us by strangers. I was worn out and my brother was very sick. The simple act of helping us made up for any of the lack of glamour at the Baymont.
So, don't expect the Baymont to provide much beyond a hot and a cot, so to speak, but do expect to encounter caring employees who respond to your needs. If you are grouchy and difficult to please do yourself and the staff of the Baymont a favor and pass on by.

Adequate Lodging. Kind staff.

Check in was polite and the lobby was modern and clean.  Went to the room, to find a run down mess.  Coffee pot did not work, no curtsey items for the bathroom.  Had to get towels from front desk the entire stay.  No one serviced the room over 4 nights.  The floor had some sort of film on it, that made our feet black.

Spent the day at the beach with my 9 and 7 yr old. Made reservation (odd to hear roosters at 9 pm in the back round while booking ), paid over phone, received confirmation. Family drove from Myrtle Beach to Wilmington, thinking it will be great to finally get some rest.

An hour and a half later, 10:30pm we arrive. Receptionist said, we're booked, no rooms. Despiye our confirmed, paid for reservation. Immediately upon walking out, I received an email stating my reservation was canceled due to credit card problems. 

The real reason.... using an off shore call center vice the front desk worker in the hotel. In order to 'save a buck' they lost a customer.

I hope that families traveling don't have this same experience... it's not pleasant.

Wyndham will no longer be a place for us to stay, can't rely or trust the room will be there upon arrival.

Room Not Available After Confirmed Reservation

the room was dirty . We got up and found roaches in the room at 2 am . We killed about 8 . We told the person in the office and the only thing we were told is I am sorry.  Wouldnt refund any money.  Don't stay here its so nasty ... I ask 4 times for wash clothes and towels never got them finally had to go to walmart and buy wash clothes and towels just to take a shower . Worst birthday trip ever !

Nasty

We stayed one night at this hotel and it was disgusting. As soon as we gotten keep to our room, we walked in and there was trash everywhere and the beds weren’t even made so we went down and got another room. Walked into the second room, and the floor was sandy, and turned our feet black. My mom and I killed 4 bugs in just one night we stayed. The shower curtain had mold growing on it and the walls were dirty and moldy. They didn’t even do anything for us except say sorry. Will NOT be staying here ever again!!

People like Abigail the Daytime Auditor at the Baymont in Wilmington NC  helped me with various issues including making  sure the keys were working as well as relocating my friends when their room had issues  as well as Abigail herself returning my full deposit when their stay was over so I am very appreciate of the entire staff of the Baymont including Abigail for all their help when my friends stayed over for Memorial Day Weekend-

How I was helped by the employees of the Baymont in Wilmington NC

I made reservations here several months ago for a business trip to Wilmington NC.  I placed through priceline no problem.  I call Baymont national customer service to let them know I will be coming in late.  I am assured that they talked to the desk manager on site and all is ok.  Upon arrival at 1100pm the hotel is roped off and boarded up due to being damaged in Hurricane Florence last year.  When I called Baymont back they said It’s not their problem I needed to deal with priceline.  All I have to say is yay to Priceline for helping and boo to Baymont for leaving me and my family sitting in a vacant parking lot at midnight looking for a place to stay.  

Verify they are open before making reservations.

Baymont is selling rooms at a closed hotel.

Gave away my room, sent me to a disgusting hotel at 10 pm with my family 10 miles away. They did not have a room not that I would have stayed there anyway. Called the Baymont and was told the OWNER made the arrangements and overbooked the original hotel. 

Worst service ever

Good pool.  Breakfast didnt have many hot food items like sausage, potatoes, and eggs.  Rooms were run down and the quality of cleaning can be improved on.  A good place to stay and not worry about your pets making a mess!

Omg, awful.  My room was so musty I left my hanging clothes in my truck for two days.   Think about that, a truck in the sun versus the hotel room.  Shower at night was barely warm yet in the morning scolding hot, must turn off water heater at night to save?

To top it off, my gas tank was siphoned out fortunately a gas station is next door.

Great location, but seek all other options before this choice.
