Girl's trip for bday celebration.  We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the pool and hot tub (we were relieved that no 'drink police' were there during our mid-week stay. Really stupid that they don't allow drinks at the pool - but since the cat was away....:-). Despite the hours listed on Google Maps for The Locker Room bar - it did stay open until 11 pm on a Thursday night! We had a blast (karaoke night) hanging out with the very friendly locals. We rented our 2BR thru VRBO so this review isn't about the condo. But I didn't feel the property felt as dated as what I've read but maybe I was expecting the worst based on reviews 😂. I did my research and knew a lot of businesses in the Village may be closed during summer. We had a very enjoyable time. 

Fun summer stay 

Make sure you check in at the top of the Mountain at Allegheny Inn. Rhe price was reasonable given it was during an event.  The room is cozy and homey with a pull down bed. The shower pressure was amazing.  would definitely recommend this place.

Very Nice Lodge!

We booked a condo in silvercreek lodge it was outdated the couch pull out bed was broken they don’t provide  much  the Kitchen was very outdated holes in  the couch’s  very small. For 6 people The restaurant in the lodge was awful do  not waste your money we paid 10 for soup. Out of a can  horrible waste of money noting was good  we went to the pool two times. Guidelines were not followed  people were everywhere  could not even use the hot tub  Also  the fireplace in our room did not work. The only thing nice about the whole place was the staff.  And the little store inside  that sold  a variety of items and the gift shop was nice would not  go back😩

Silvercreek lodge snowshoe wv

My family loves this place. Great spring skiing and little or no lines in March. But it smells like a 90’s bar.  Did anyone tell them second hand smoke is dangerous. There are clouds of smoke coming out from under the doors with a big no smoking sign on them. Worse is that it seeps into our room too. It’s concerning for me, I would like to stay in a safe place for my 8 year old and myself spending the last 3 years fighting cancer. It is also just a gross smell to people who have never smoked.  We complained and nothing was done. We asked to be moved but there were no clean units, even though the place seems empty.

I’ve never left a review before, but felt this one was necessary!  I would’ve given ZERO stars if it would’ve allowed me to. We recently traveled to Snowshoe and stayed at the Silver Creek Lodge. (ROOM 2506) The room was a huge disappointment. It definitely had not been updated for some  time. We had our great-nephews with us (4 & 6 years old). The dishwasher had dishes left in there and for  who knows how long?  Some of the dishes in the cabinets had wooden shavings in/on them...not sure how that would happen!  I went to the front desk to request a new sponge, as the one found under the sink was worn and had remains if what looked like old cheese. Gross!!!  Inside asked if they had any dishwasher detergent. They told me it was up to each individual owner as to what they’d provide. What??? I was not made aware that I should’ve traveled with some!  The washcloth in the kitchen didn’t little to scrub the pans. We ended up using paper plates that I bright randomly . Yuck!  The floors were dusty under table and in bedroom behind the OLD chair. Flies (dead) were lying amongst the dust. The bathroom sink didn’t drain well. While washing hands it would fill up. We had to keep an eye on when the boys were doing this task to make sure it didn’t overflow on accident.  You’ll have to stagger showers/baths. We took short ones and still ended up with ice cold water!  The wooden mantle needed to be secured better!  The couch was VERY uncomfortable. It sagged tremendously. We should’ve known...because when we went to set up the pull-out couch for the boys we were shocked! It was by no means safe for little boys to sleep on this. The springs were unattached because the bottom material was ripped. It looked like a very undulated green (golf analogy). LUCKILY I brought a blow-up mattress and they had to sleep on that. 

It was hotter than Hades in the unit. We slept with windows cracked AND fans that were found in of the unusable bedroom closet. 

That was just the room!!! 😳

When we left our car wouldn’t pick up service so I went inside to get printed directions. They printed them in Spanish. C’mon!  Nothing against the language, but I clearly didn’t sound like I spoke Spanish, nor did I converse with the three employees who were from Argentina in their native language. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I don’t mind an older facility, but this is unacceptable. It, by no means, should be listed as “sleeps four” until the couch is replaced. I’ve shared this with them. I’m hoping the other rooms are nothing like this. 

The ONLY positive thing I can share about this room...we enjoyed watching the skiers coming down the mountain. They boys simply LOVED that part!  

Skiing was fun. Night tubing was a blast. Our activities were the best part!  Just hate we didn’t get ANYTHING fir the price we paid to stay here. It’s just too bad that this is where they suggested we stay since we had kids in tow. Never again!  Well consider this a ”one and done!”

Misleading accommodations

Definitely not what we thought we were getting.  Stayed in one bedroom/ sleeps 4 with pull out couch.   Pull out couch was sunk in and springs broke/ plus filthy and old.   Dishes were dirty/ sponge to clean was filthy and dishwasher was temperamental.  Very outdated room.    On the positive side , very convenient / pool and hot tub were fine and had plenty of places to eat.    We were fortunate to bring a blow up mattress and our own cooking supplies so we didn’t use what was provided.   Overall poor value for $$ spent.  Rm 2506

Room

We were looking forward to a nice romantic getaway with skiing, nice dinners and cozy accommodations. Unfortunately only 2 out of the 3 were met. Every meal we ate at the village was wonderful and the pork chop at the Appalachian restaurant was out of this world! The skiing was great and all the staff were helpful and kind. Unfortunately our accommodations were up to even motel 8 standards. Our room was a “deluxe” and it was horribly outdated and run down, the couch looked like it was found on the side of the road, the room had a horrible musty smell that made sleeping and my allergies a mess (after a couple hours out of the room they would get better but then it would start as soon as we got back) all appliances were out dated and loud, the bed was uncomfortable and so were the pillows and blankets from 1983 when the place opened I can go on and on about how bad the room was but you get the idea do your self a favor and stay in the village or top of the world. The village at snowshoe is so nice it’s disappointing that snowshoe even keeps that place open it’s a disgrace to the snowshoe name.

Don’t stay at silver creek!

What a joke... paid for parking 10.00 and someone keyed are car while we were only there for 2 hours. It was a rental and we didn’t get insurance through them.... They keyed F*** Y** pretty big. We really can’t think of any reason someone would have done it unless they were being malice. If you pay for parking and there were plenty of spaces.... how did they get away with that! We won’t be back there!

This is an ok place during snow/skiing season I guess. In early November EVERY THING is CLOSED . No food, no gift shop, and nothing open. We were lucky to arrive early and found a lady that found a phone to call the property management. This was a 3 mile round trip just to check in. Luckily our trip was toCass WV. And we found food there 12 miles round trip. No warnings or signs giving directions to the fact everything is closed. Room was ok.

Visit wrong time of year.

Silver creek rooms are just normal hotel rooms with normal accommodations, close to pool, hot tub and workout room, kinda close to slopes but wish it was closer, not very close to activities and stuff in ballet however it is right in the middle of everything so it’s close enough.
