Food was okay, nothing special but service was horrible. Slow slow service, rude management ( I believe her name was Hillary) and extra  undisclosed charges included charging for bread, excessive tip charged on PLUS tax and finally almost 4% on credit card which I’ve never heard of. When discussed with manager, she was disrespectful and rude. Overall horrible customer experience. STAY AWAY.

Undisclosed upcharges- horrible service

This was a good find.  Both our meals were very good and it’s located away from the busy streets in Newport.  Service isn’t the friendliest, but our questions were answered and food came out pretty quickly.

Good Experience

Went for a late Sunday night dinner. The ribs were excellent,the service was excellent. My husband had the clam chowder, delicious. Would recommend to everyone. The place hah a small bar,with t.v. & low music.

Cozy

Came here to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. Based our choice on the positive reviews. While we saw people around us receive good service ours was really bad. My wife who is very tolerant wanted to leave. We were seated at a table that was not set. No napkins and missing fork. After placing our order, we asked for a napkin the hostess threw 2 napkins on the side of the table.  Extremely to us we watched as she set the table meticulously. This type of disregard happened throughout the meal. The place was not crowded. There were a few people that were regulars who were treated as Kings and Queens. I’d like to think it was an off night. My wife thinks that it was racially driven. Either way, we will never return nor recommend this place.

Great food extremely poor service

Went here for dinner intending to try the barbque ribs but also had the Murray chicken and we were not disappointed. As soon as we walked into Rhea’s cute and cozy dining room the lovely scent of bbq wafted in to greet us. The green salad was also tasty as was the Heathbar chocolate cake. We told our waitress that this was the best meal we had had on vacation and she was so pleased to hear it. Can’t recommend this unassuming place enough. Run, don’t walk!

Nothing wrong about this place; spacious comfy bed, good shower, clean and fresh, good parking

Lacking in some features however- no bedside tables and you have to go back to door to switch the main light off at night.
For the price, was disappointed that no breakfast was included, or available, even though this is a restaurant and appeared to be serving food to non-residents in the morning

May be good as an eatery, as a B&B only average

My husband and I were attending a wedding in Newport, and didn't want to break the bank on accommodations. We came across Rhea's Kitchen and it had so-so reviews, so we were nervous about booking. Boy were we surprised! The hotel was adorable, and the room was super clean. The gentlemen who checked us in was very friendly. Our room was ready prior to check-in time so he let us in early, which was a great help. We cannot speak on the restaurant downstairs, but it smelled great upon departure. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Great budget hotel nearby to Newport

The room we were assigned was very recently redone, so was very nice and clean and welcoming.  It was fine for us, but be aware there are lots of steps and I'm not sure if there was an elevator anywhere or not.  There was no breakfast available and the receipt we received when paying for the room printed out with "Rhea's Bed & BREAKFAST".  The food we had for dinner was very good, but we were a bit surprised by the lack of a breakfast.
