Knoll's Court Motel exceeded its expectation. If you're coming to the Fort Myers area, Knoll's is a 10/10 recommendation located in Matlacha, Florida. You'll wake up watching the sunrise right over the water and sunset, either at your front door or at any walkable restaurant. Went for the weekend and never started my car. Everything is within a 5-minute walk. The owner, Anand, was super friendly and gave me some recommendations for anything that I like to do, including some history about Matlacha. The price is the most affordable on the island with the best view. 5 stars is an understatement. (No, I wasn't paid for this review. It's my honest opinion.)

Anand was awesome, super friendly with a personality that can put a smile on anyone's face, that has a sense of humor. The rooms were basic, a place to lay your head. The experience of a small hotel on the water with walking access to many shops and restaurants in this small old historic town of Matchala was an unforgettable unique experience. It's not fancy and to me, this is what is appealing. It was a real experience with real people that have personalities that shine, no fake corporate mumbo jumbo....if your looking for bougie, try Naples lol

Great time!

Clean rooms, basic. Amenitiesand right on the water and dolphins in the water. Really enjoyed staff and great clean atmosphere.  Highly suggest this hidden jem.  Your trully living the island life.  Amazing

This is a very quaint old Florida motel. Anand, the owner is very nice and helpful. He comes around throughout the day to see if you need anything.  He does not  intrude on private space but will visit if encouraged.  The rooms are oldbut very clean and comfortable. The rooms are kitchenettes but very limited cooking utensils. There is lovely area in the back overlooking the water. Absolutely beautiful. They have a gas grill chairs and several tables. Anand welcomed our dog and made us very comfortable.  The biggest drawback is the traffic.  The traffic on the street is awful. Apparently way worse during high season. 
This is a cute little place that is very relaxing and beautiful.

POSITIVES: Ac was cold. Showers were hot. Fishing was fun off of the dock
NEGATIVE:Beds were hard. Pillows were scarce and flat 
Host was pleasant but extremely unprofessional. 
But it was a place for the night.
Don’t expect to be wow’d

My husband and I spent 3 nights here.  Let me just start by saying, this is OLD Florida.   Yes, the rooms are outdated, but they are clean.  They have a funky smell because they are so old.  But you have all the basics that you need.  Don't expect the Ritz and you won't be disappointed.  You are paying for location here.  The owner, Anand, was helpful in every way and so very friendly!  If you want a clean room with a place to relax and fish, this place is for you! If you are down to earth, regular people, you will LOVE it.  Don't expect a resort.  The private pier is what sold us.  You don't need a license to fish here.  Luckily we had access to poles and gear since we had family near by.  Within walking distance of all kinds of shops and restaurants.  Kitchen has mini fridge to keep snacks and beverages.  The air conditioner unit great.  Hot water was plentiful.  Towels could have been larger, but at least they were clean. We stayed on the waterfront side, but I heard from other patrons there that the road side rooms were not the best because of the car traffic. Nice place.  I would definitely recommend it!

Great place to relax and fish!

I had a water facing room in this no frills motel. I had stayed here before but there is a new owner now. New owner is trying to do everything himself and not doing a very good job. Not enough "supplies" for bathroom. No one changes towels or makes bed. The worst was the cold showers two of three mornings. Hopefully, he will get the hang of it.

The pictures say it all. We were told hotel had been recently renovated by the new owner. $149 a night and nowhere else to stay on this little island had me in panic mode once I saw how rundown this was. The best part at least was no carpet on the floor. No phone / no clock. Kitchen area had a funky smell so went to nearby Winn Dixie & to get Febreze. Blinds had missing pieces - NEVER able to even semi darken room. Thank goodness we weren’t relying on using the stove - beyond gross.  

No No No - you absolutely don’t want to stay here. 

My wife and I just spent 3 nights at Knolls Court Motel on beautiful Matlacha. If you are the pretentious type, go spend a lot of money at the snobby resorts, this motel is not for you. If you're laid back and want a gorgeous spot for a great price, that's walking distance from everything Matlacha has to offer, you'll love this place as much as we did. The views are incredible, and that's saying a lot since we live in Key West. Right from the beginning, Anand, the owner, greeted us with smiles and kindness. He answered all of our questions about the area and recommended great places to eat. The room was definitely "old Florida" style, colorful and inviting. It was VERY clean and came with the usual kitchen amenities you'd expect from a motel room. My wife and I were sitting out underneath the sheltered tables when Anand walked up and actually asked us if it was ok if he joined us. It was refreshing to see someone so polite and concerned he wasn't going to encroach on my wife and I's time. He's a great guy. If you're in Matlacha, stay at Knoll's Court. If you're unfortunate enough not to be able to stay there, stop by and say hi to Anand. You won't regret it. 

Everything I'd hoped for

Touring pine island and couldn’t find a place with an opening. On our way back to fort Meyers we found an opening in Matlacha. This place has everything you need, a kitchenette fridge and shower. Nothing fancy they advertise as efficient. We stayed 2 nights lots of shopping and dining in walking distance. Locals are friendly with a laid back island attitude.
