The blackbird lodge was perfect for the two of us 
Our  4th floor king  bed with corner fireplace, balcony overlooking blackbird island, mountains and river beautiful anytime of the day. A very short walk into the heart of Leavenworths shops, restaurant’s and wine tasting.
The Blackbird lodge staff were always available and friendly and  willing to help in any way. 

A simply positively relaxing and beautiful way to spend 4 days in Leavenworth Washington!

Minimal amenities. Breakfast advertised but there is nothing.  Cookies and coffee are not available until after 8 a.m. and if you take more than a couple, you are questioned. Front door is locked at 6 p.m. every day and no staff after 6 p.m.  Front desk attendant was rude. It is obvious that this 'Resort' is being run in a shoestring budget with guests being provided only the basics. Would not stay here again or recommend to anyone.

Would not recommend

Upon checking in the front desk person (Megan) informed us that our room was going to be on the 4th floor, oh and by the way, the air conditioning isn’t working and hasn’t been working for days but be glad that you are in the front of the building because the rooms in the back get even hotter.  This was all delivered in a rude manner.  When asked for more of an explanation, she just told us that there have been several HVAC people out to look at it but none of them could figure out what was wrong or fix it.  When I inquired if there were any other rooms available, Megan rudely informed me that there weren’t and that there really wasn’t anything they could do but there was a fan in the room.  As I stood there in shock, both at the horrible thought of not having air conditioning in this heat and also the rudeness of Megan, she just looked at me and said, “We are done here, you can go now.”   I would also like to note that we stayed there last year and on that trip Megan also checked us in and she was rude that time as well.  I let it go that time because I didn’t want our vacation to be ruined but I was not surprised she was rude again this time.
First of all, it would have been nice to have been informed of the AC issue and given the opportunity to cancel before we drove all the way there.  Second, if this issue had been going on for days, why were portable AC units not already purchased and installed?  This is not only an uncomfortable situation but it could also have medical consequences for some people.
So we go to the room, which was hot, so we tried to open the window to let in a breeze but it had the blocks on it so the window could only be opened a few inches which did nothing.  We asked that due to the circumstances could these locks be removed and we were told NO!  So we were expected to stay in a hot box of a room with nothing being done to try to make it more comfortable for us except for a floor fan and being treated rudely.  That night our room was 86 degrees which we were definitely not able to comfortably sleep in.  We had to take cold showers to try and get our body temperature down as we were getting over heated. 

The next day we ran to the store to get another fan, to try and draw some of the cooler evening air into the room, some cooling towels, to keep us from getting heatstroke, and a small personal cooling unit.  We also bought an allen wrench to take the locks off the window so we could actually try and get some cooling night air in the room.  All of those things did not help, so the 2nd night our room was still 86 degrees.  The next morning I went downstairs to see if anything was going to be done because we were ready to leave, we could not stay in this heat box of a room any longer.  At that point it appeared that someone was going to finally go to the store to get portable ac units to put in the room.  Why they did not do this earlier, I do not know.  I think it was because it was the weekend and they didn’t want to put forth the effort for their guests on the weekend.
Later that day, Monday, we did get a portable AC unit installed in our room, but it was a long battle against the heat in the room to make much of a difference.  The only way we could sleep that night was to have the AC unit blowing directly on us.  The room that night finally got down to around 80 degrees which is still too hot to be comfortable to sleep in.  Finally the thunderstorm on Tuesday provided some relief from the heat and we were able to draw some outside cooler air into the room.  Even after that and running the AC 24/7 our room was never able to get below 76 degrees.

We were due to check out on 5/20 but we made the decision to leave a day early simply because 5/19 was supposed to be a really hot day at 92 degrees and we knew that the AC unit would not be able to keep up and we would be in a miserably hot room again that night.  Rather than put ourselves through that, we just decided to leave early.  
We woke up early, packed our stuff, turned in the keys and headed out.  This will be the last time we stay at this resort, next time we will pick someplace else.


No Working AC and they didn't even care!

This is a good lodge, with a lot of space.  The furniture and electronics are a bit outdated.  This is a timeshare, so don’t expect daily service.  The amenities were good, room was clean and the staff was very welcoming and helpful.  This is located a block from Front Street in Leavenworth, Washington, so you can walk to everything located in this beautiful Bavarian town.

We will never be back,Front desk woman was awful,unpleasant,angry and rude.She was complaining to us about other guests and even having to do her own job.Worst customer service we've ever experienced.

NEVER AGAIN

Everything in our efficiency unit was clean, comfortable, and functional.  As others have noted, the facility is within easy walking distance of many tourist shops, restaurants, and tasting rooms.  Parking is not sufficient for the number of rooms, and spaces are small.  Our room had a microwave and mini-fridge but no utensils or dishes.  Staff were friendly, helpful, and appropriately observing covid protocols.

Clean, comfortable room in commercial setting

We stayed in a one bedroom lock off. The room was nicely furnished, very spacious, clean, and within walking distance to everything. It had everything we needed and parking is free.

The only thing you might want to be aware of is that the tub/shower is very deep and requires a huge step over the side of the tub to get in. There is a handle on the side of the tub but it may still be difficult for some to maneuver around. 

Also, kitchen doesn’t have an oven or full size fridge.

This is a great stay for a quick getaway. You can walk to all of the shops and restaurants and not have to worry about driving and parking.

Spacious One Bedroom, Great Location 

That's what my realtor instructor told us were the three most important factors in real estate. With The Blackbird Lodge, you'll fully understand why.

All of the stores and restaurants in the Front Street area are within walking distance, with virtually no change in elevation. Of course, that means that Front Street Park (the gazebo area) is, too, but so are Waterfront and Enchantment Parks, Blackbird Island (partial view of), and the Wenatchee River (partial view of). Being a block off of Front Street and, even though across the street from the hospital, the lodge is surprisingly quiet.

The rooms are comfortable and were cool during our visit. The lodge has a small breakfast area with limited, though free, offerings - a single waffle maker for the entire place and a basket of fruit cups that quickly disappear - and a two-hour window for those interested. There is a nice sitting area across the way. Our big concern was parking: many of the spaces are quite narrow, and there aren't enough spaces for the number of units. There are instructions that one can park down the road a piece, not exactly comforting nor convenient. Street parking does seem to be a viable alternative at some times of year. Tip: get there early to get a parking space and consider your strategy for your visit.

Location, location, location

Large room, great views and quiet.  Close to everything without being right on the main street.  Walking distance to shopping, restaurants and sightseeing.  Well maintained property. Parking is tight and no pool or spa, but overall a nice place to stay. 

Nice quiet place

This is the first time that we've been to Leavenworth.  We came up I-90 from Tacoma, on Sunday, and the traffic headed back to the city was long.  The couple that checked in before us came on Hwy 2 and said that same thing.  When we left on the Friday, Hwy 2 was backed up heading to Leavenworth.

There is a small driveway in front of the building for you to park, while you check in.  There is covered parking under the building,  We used the BBQ twice, but be respectful and clean it after you're done.  The elevator gets warm during the day, so we took the stairs whenever we could.  The resort is just a block from Front St, which is the main street.

We had 2 studios suites, which had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker:
Unit #305 has a balcony, facing the hospital and overlooking the town and mountains.
Unit $401 has a larger balcony, a soaker tub, and overlooks the river and mountains.

The complimentary breakfast included coffee and tea, fruit cups, and you make your own waffle.

The staff is friendly and helpful, so ask them for advice and recommendations.
Leavenworth is quiet after sunset.  I walked around the town 2-3 times each day.
