We booked here because it was close to our family but NEVER again! The maintenance is ridiculously poor, even the bottom sheet on the bed was nothing more than a top sheet that sort of covered the mattress (which was the only reasonably good thing about the room, thank goodness).

Absolutely AWFUL!

Dirty yellow stains on beds broken ac and tv remotes bugs everywhere in room checked out less than an hour after checking in  do not stay here ruined by sons birthday weekend get away as we had to check out and go home it was so gross

Don’t stay here dirty rooms , dirty bathrooms gross

Whilst this suite came at the right price the units are aging and in need of repair. We were grateful of that we were accommodated early and given access to the room but unfortunately the room lacked the degree of cleanliness that we have grow accustomed too. There was a build up of dirt on the floor, dirty socks behind the bathroom door and burn marks in the bed covering. (Such oversights may have been caused by the fact that they had only one cleaner on duty and not the normal five - this could be a Covid issue)

Affordable - but you get what you pay for!

I’ve stayed here in the past as have other members of my family.  This was the most horrible and dangerous experience I’ve had.  After a 10 hour drive on a Sunday, with my mother who has Alzheimer’s, I arrived Sunday evening.  They told me they had just sold the last room.  They made no effort to help me find another room or suggested other options.  I was just turned out on the street in the dark with my Mom.

Didn’t honor my reservation

Do not stay here! Absolutely horrific experience and we only took one quick look at our room (after observing the horrendous exterior conditions of the property and lobby) and we left to find other accommodations.  Hadn’t been cleaned and when we entered a used dirty plunger was on the kitchen table. Toilet was stained and looked like it had been left uncleaned for some time. The smell was absolutely revolting. The pictures online are photoshopped to make appear appealing, the place, in reality is in desperate need of repairs. They charge a $500 hold to your credit card (on top of room rate) for “damages”. When we stated was excessive given they had our card on file, they said they would do $200. This is more of a low income long term residence than a hotel, many units were being lived in with porches used as storage and plywood/cardboard make shift windows for windows A/C units, broken piled up furniture/ trash at various areas of the units.  Even our kids said they wouldn’t sleep here.

BEWARE - CHOOSE ANOTHER HOTEL

The hotel is severely understaffed.  The two women we saw working day and night are friendly and helpful but they look utterly exhausted.  Our room wasn't ready even though we didn't check in until 11 PM.  Shortly after we finally got into the room, a  guy who sounded either drunk or high tried to open our room door.  He failed, and when I yelled "What the hell?!" he said "My bad" and left.  15 minutes later as we were trying to fall asleep, the cops banged on our door because another guest had phoned to say that a man with a crowbar was trying to break into our room, which was not true.  The cops banged on the door again 15 minutes later asking for a description of the man who had tried to enter our room, even though I had already told them I never actually saw the guy, I only heard him. I got the impression the cops get called out to this hotel frequently for domestic disturbances.  From the moment we got there until the moment we left, it just didn't "feel" right.

I do NOT recommend this place

Beautiful pool , horrible staff . No towels , dirty blanket broken closet filthy walls . I rate this hotel a 1 out of 10 and that is only because the pool was nice. This hotel needs new management, maintenance and new house keepers 

Worst suite I ever stayed at

No AC in July in New England, no hot water, no towels or amenities.  No housekeeping.  Broken door locks that would not accept the key cards.  No coffee maker.  Refrigerator doors on incorrectly.  No desk personnel available for immediate assistance.  

Week from Hell

Dirty room, stained sheets and mattresses.  The doors and frames in them had cracks in them from being busted in and screwed together for structural integrity.  Most of the units are being rented as long-term rental apartments not as hotel rooms.  I would not recommend anyone looking for a short term hotel stay with clean and safe amenities to stay there.


Disaster hotel stay

We are very upset about our stay at the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Manchester Hartford. When we arrived on 7/3/21 we were told that the hold for our room was $500. When I complained they brought it down to $200. We were sent to room 5207. Filthy room; dirty, stained sheets; pillows with no pillow cases. All bedspreads had cigarette burn holes. The couch was old and dirty. The room reeked of cigarette smoke when we first opened the door. When I went back to the front desk to complain, it took us an hour and a half to be given another room. They had just mopped and swept the floors in room 5106. The sheets were cleaner. But the counters were still dirty, and there were NO towels and washcloths in the whole room. When we called the front desk, they brought us two towels, 2 hand towels and two washcloths for a room that accommodates 5 people. Two of the pillows did not have pillowcases. And, it is not listed on the hotel website that this is a hotel where low income families have permanent residence. People were smoking everywhere and the smell of cigarettes was everywhere. This is a horrible hotel with very poor management. We will NEVER stay here again.
