Just back from a 3 night break in the lakes. What can I say about Oldfield house! Its beautifully decorated and absolutely spotless throughout. We stayed in one of the superior rooms ( room 2) and its a nice large room with a very comfy big bed. The attached bathroom had a fantastic shower and the room is so quiet at night being away from the main road. Its a 2 minute walk in to Windermere and about 15 mins to walk to Bowness. Also, there is a great little fridge in the wardrobe which was a really nice touch.

Stephanie & John are very nice people indeed and made us feel very welcome and completely at home. The breakfasts are something else and Johns egg poaching skills should be patanted! Now we have found this gem we will always try and stay here from now on when we are in this area of the lakes.

Did not want to leave!

Stephanie and Jonathan gave myself and my partner a fantastic welcome. Breakfast was lovely every day and the room was always tidy wen we came back of an evening. Definitely recommend this place to people.

3 night stay 

Found this bed n breakfast on booking .com great little place , spotless everywhere great breakfast cooked to perfection , room was lovely very comfy bed and lovely clean shower room ,location wise Great for walk into town and down to lake , lots of places to eat and drink . But the best thing to say is the hosts Stephanie and John are very very friendly and we will definitely return and also recommend it to friends.

Weekend break

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The rooms are well equipped and very comfortable plus the whole place is absolutely spotless. Also a great breakfast is provided and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Top all that off with the fact that it’s in a great location and very reasonably priced its an absolute no brainer. We’ll definitely be coming back.

An excellent B&B.

We visited for a couple of days. The owners were lovely and friendly and the room was spotlessly clean . En-suite bathroom was a bit snug but again spotless with nice free toiletries. Breakfast was really good. Oldfield House has its own car park which is a great asset . Short walk to Windermere village centre where there are loads of good places to eat. 

Great little place 

Arrived by car and there was a car park with about 4 spaces but on street parking was available too. During the day several spaces were used by the adjacent garage but in the evening no problem finding a space. Easy walk into Windermere or even Bowness. Nice comfortable room although a little small and only one chair. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. Very quiet neighbourhood too. Breakfast was very good But it would have been nice to have had more cold options, such as berries. Overall a good stay, would not hesitate to recommend this B&B.

Nice B&B close to centre

Nice B & B, superb location, easy walk into either Windermere or Bowness.

Stephanie was very friendly, nice breakfast and all in all a very welcoming place.

My only negative comment would be that we stayed for 2 nights and we did not get a change of towels. Other than that I would recommend.
