Very reasonable accomodation for a working trip, comfortable and well supplied.
The food, very impressive, we had the steak option and while we could be picky about the quality of the meat, it, and every thing else on the plate was perfectly cooked and presented,,, I couldn't have said what was the best part!
Just yummy! Come and enjoy :-)

Tasty dinner

Friendly, welcoming pub with a dining area. 
Lots of parking, and easy to find.
Rooms decent size and comfortable.
Good food, lovely breakfast, friendly helpful staff.
Excellent value for money, nice food and lovely outside area too.
Great for a stopover on our way to visit family.

Good value, friendly inn, lovely breakfast.

Good size room, comfortable beds. Friendly staff, however the rooms are in need of better cleaning and maintenance. The wash basin was badly cracked and I had to clean bathroom shelf before putting anything on it. Breakfast bag provided on 1st Jan, had no milk, bowl or spoon for cereal, no opener for bottle of juice, no knife to spread croissant, it wasn't thought through.

Disappointed 

Generally a very pleasant stay with a good size room in reasonably good order.
However, the breakfast in our room on the morning of New Years Day wasn't the best thought through. Amongst other things we were provided with a cereal but no dish, spoon or milk. 

A pleasant place but disappointing at the end.

Stayed overnight at the Horton Inn as I had an early appointment the next day. There was plenty of parking space and the check-in was friendly and efficient.
The room was clean and well decorated. The bed was comfortable and extra heaters were available, very cosy on a cold night. 
The en-suite bathroom is clean and modern. 
I had a very good nights sleep.
In the morning I had a delicious cooked breakfast and the staff were warm and friendly. All in all, the Horton Inn is great value for money and I will be back next time I am in the area.

Lovely overnight stay

So disappointed. Room downgraded without prior notice, tried to charge the same price as the deluxe room which I’d booked until I complained and two different reasons as to why my room had been changed. Mould in the wardrobe, dirty bathroom and kitchen extraction system running all night. Topped off with finding a sewing needle threaded in the bedding which makes me suspect that the bedding hadn’t been changed. So bad that I checked out the following day and booked elsewhere for the remainder of my stay. 

Awful

Tried to book a family room for today with dinner. Was told that the manager would return my call . I called 3 times and never received a call back. As we were travelling to see our daughter at university decided to come back the same day.

Could not be bothered to reply to 3 phone calls

We have just come back from a fabulous weekend at the Horton inn celebrating a friends 60 th birthday, the rooms , food and staff were amazing and nothing to muck trouble, can’t wait to return. The room 1 was huge and the biggest bed I’ve ever slept in was so warm and cosy

Fabulous

Went for a casual lunch and had seen good reviews so thought we'd try the Horton Inn.  The staff were nice and friendly but our food took far too long to arrive, for example nearly two hours to get our main course, with our starters plates on the table for nearly an hour waiting to be cleared.  When our main course arrived they got the order wrong, the salad was served on a hot plate so was warm and unappetising!   We were not the only ones who were waiting either.  A shame as it could have been so good.  The food itself was average, the menu was a standard pub menu with specials on the board - one of which was a selection of pies obviously bought in, and of poor quality.  We did not have time for a pudding as who knows how long that would have taken.

Friendly but would not go back

Booked a 2 night stay at the Horton Inn. Friendly welcome and immediately became clear how dog friendly the place was. Room was relatively clean not spotless but more than adequate. They had called to inform us that no food was being served on our 2nd day/night due to staffing issues. Breakfast (which was included in the room rate) was excellent. First night we both had the "Horton Classic Burger" which was well cooked and very tasty with good fries. My only comment is that a crisp iceberg or little gem lettuce would have been better giving some crunchy texture. All in all would thoroughly recommend the Horton Inn especially to those with four legged friends
