Lovely hotel tucked away right next to a cheeky macdonalds and a brewers fayre that’s connected.

I have to say it’s Not the most updated premier inn I’ve stayed in but the staff have been super friendly and helpful. The rooms are actually clean and definitely do the job, the beds are always super comfy

Lovely hotel

This hotel in my opinion is in need of a revamp. A bit tired and old in comparison to Premiers we frequent.  
Key access to rooms, no security to access the main part of the hotel as in others where you need a key card to go through the door and to your rooms.  
Heating is by means of a wall heater, not really man enough to heat the room and bathroom sufficiently for me.  Aircon if needed was a floor standing fan.  
There was only one 'dining type chair' to sit on, the sofas have been removed so, not a comfy seat in sight.  2 of us in the room, one would have to sit on the bed...not practical so, I asked for another 'dining type chair' and got one. No USB points. WiFi was OK, bit poor at times but, that can happen wherever you are.
We did eat in the restaurant in the evenings but, breakfast was at McDonald's a walk across the road.
Very nice staff.  Would we stay here again?...Well, never say never but, at this time, no we don't think we would.

Not the best Premier, good location, nice staff.

Had a perfect nights sleep, room was very clean and the lady on reception when checking in was very friendly. I didn’t eat in the restaurant as I needed something quick so I got a takeaway, but I know the service is good and food is nice as I have been in there before 

My stay

The noisiest Premier Inn I have ever stayed in (inside noise). Very tired decor.  Bed comfortable as always but not a good sleep due to banging doors and loud chatting. Needs a refurb and sound insulation.  Would travel further next time for a better sleep. 

Only a one night stay

Staff very friendly and very helpful, nothing too much trouble, everything very nice, perhaps just a little tired and could soon be ready for a refurbishment, bathroom etc very dated. Bed very comfortable, sheets, pillow cases  and everything very clean.

Lovely but rooms tired

Staff are a credit to the hotel cant fault a thing the wife had an accident and was having trouble walking and she was made comfortable on the ground floor the location is excellent as we love this part of essex will always underline this hotel for a return trip and recommend to others

Premier inn north colchester road

We stayed for 2 nights. 
Very comfortable and clean.
I didn’t understand how to operate the shower properly (entirely my fault).
The receptionist, Sue, came immediately to help. 
She was completely ‘happy to help’.
In my opinion it’s staff that can often make or break a stay away in a hotel.
Sue was always happy at reception, checking that all was ok when we left or entered the hotel. 
Thank you Sue, you are a star!

The receptionist, Sue, is an absolute credit to Premier inn.

Great stay as always here for the last 3months staff always happy to help been in quite a few different rooms around the hotel upstairs and downstairs and all of the rooms are always maintained to a very high standard big shout out to emma and louise who are always happy to help.

I have been staying at this hotel mon-fri for work for the last few weeks and have no complaints. All the girls on the reception are great and remember us when we arrive. Housekeeping are good at nipping in the rooms to give us clean towels. Pub next door is good for evening meals and a pint after work. 
Overall a thumbs up for the whole team 👍🏻

Friendly and welcoming

Comfortable room, very clean. Staff all very pleasent and polite. Definately stay here again. Great to have a lovely restaurant next door for evening meal and breakfast. Purchasing the meal deal is a bonus.
