we were supposed to stop  at there other  hotel  yellow Mountain  Hotel  our friends booked  it for my husband's  70 th  birthday  as a  break  as my husband has  stage  4 cancer  we were told  we were staying at  THE QUEENS INSTED  NO BREAKFAST   the  Chinese  lady was not there if we had payed for  it we would  ask for our money back WOULD  NOT RECOMMEND  THIS OR THERE OTHER HOTEL

DISGUSTED

Room was very dirty and very basic. You can get much, much better round the corner for an extra £20 a night. The room stank of smoke and had electric leads handing from the roof. The kettle didn't even have a plug near it so had to move it onto the floor.

Where do I start! Stayed here for 4 nights, we booked in on Monday 01/07/2024, the room was very basic, not that clean (think they overused bleach to cover any smells)  dust everywhere looked like it hadn't been deep cleaned for months, on the Tuesday there was no hot water for a wash or shower, had to leave a note for the manager as he was not around, was sorted later that day, but after one shower it was still only warm, other people staying there left early because they were bitten while in their room but we were lucky, by the time we checked out on Friday 05/07/2024 we had enough and couldn't wait to get home which is a shame because we usually love our stays in Skegness.

Very disappointed

Very good hotel only stopped for 2 night but will visit again next time we are in Skegness .The staff are very polite and helpful .When we arrived we were greeted on the door by a very nice Chinese lady who directed us to the carpark in the rear when we got to reception she was full of smiles and very polite Hotel its self is 2 mins walk to town centre and 2 mins to beach Room as large and well lite .hotel even smelt clean will be using again very soon

Very good hotel for the price

Horrible place with horrible staff. The lift couldn’t fit the pushchair inside, so me and my wife had to carry it up 2 flights of stairs up and down every time we wanted to leave. I am disabled, and we were told the lift would be big enough. When I tried to use the lift, I got stuck in there. It kept going up and down, even taking us down to the basement. There was broken plug sockets, with wires hanging out the walls. The cups were dirty, the milk was off.

Avoid this hotel like the plague. Recently had a booking confirmed with the hotel following a £5 deal on Booking.com. They confirmed the booking through Booking.com and independently. Later they decided to try and cancel the booking but lied to booking.com, claiming we hadn't paid.

Don't Book Here, They Lie

Returned today after a 3night stay.
We booked a standard double room (room 18)

* Yes the hotel was a little loud more doors banging as they shut as they are fire doors, even if you booked a caravan you would expect noise off people.

* Room had everything you needed, double bed, wardrobe, 2 lots of drawers, sofa, tv, 2 bedside drawers, kettle tea coffee sugar & milk.

* Bathroom was a little small & dated but didn’t affect our stay & came with toiletries & clean towel’s. 
If you would like a bigger room & bathroom then book the king room! 
Shower was a little cold the first time we showered but the owner can adjust the temperature down stairs! 

* No bar area but with the 2 bars doors away I suppose it’s not worth opening.

* Car park at the back holds 4 cars but hotel is fitted with full cctv front/back so parking on the road would still be safe.

* No breakfast available but there’s places to eat nearby.

* Great location 

* Most importantly the owners/staff are so kind & will go above & beyond to make sure you have a lovely stay!

* We would definitely return

Honest Review

A really good hotel, right near the beach and all the local shops and pubs, the room had an on suite with a shower.we arrived late because of traffic but the hotel kept in touch and were really super friendly and kind and if you need a good hotel and an affordable price you can’t really go wrong.

Clean and Great Location

The location was good but the room was awful. Double bed squeezed into a tiny room under a skeiling ceiling so you couldn't get in or out of bed without crawling across it. The bathroom was tiny, the toilet seat moved every time you sat on it. The shower was a tiny 700 square tray, obviously the door had broken or just wouldn't fit so a curtain had been put in its place. The water could not cope with the requirements of the property so if next door was in the shower you had no water! The shower was not thermostatically controlled and went from freezing cold to scalding hot in a split second. I physically burnt my legs. No signs on any taps to state 'very hot water & unpredictable pressure'. The carpet was horrible and marked and the furniture very old. The restaurant was permanently closed so no breakfast facilities, basically a very expensive over rated b&b. Spoke to reception about my burns and they didn't understand what I was saying and then advised me to be a little more gentle in my controlling of the shower tap! I've been in plumbing over 20 years! The walls are paper thin so next-doors sexual activity was certainly not private and doors were banging all night.  Avoid this hotel and in the name of safety, do not take children there!

The  shower was inadequate for purpose and the wardrobes and draws had seen better days, car parking was shocking  no one there to sort parking out security was cameras disgraceful will not return have stayed in better accommodation
