I got assaulted by the son of the owner because of some water stains they requested us to pay for. We should not be paying anything extra for cleaning as that service  should be part of the price of the room.

Not recommended

This was a basic bed and breakfast and the facilities were not quite up to scratch. In my room the shower did not even become warm despite having it running for 15 to 20 minutes. The host was quite off hand initially and had no customer service skills or conversation. The hostess was friendly enough and the food was reasonable. The decor was not up to an acceptable standard especially on the staircase. The stair carpet was worn through in places and needs replacing. There was also no communal lounge for my mum and I to sit in. All in all I cannot recommend this establishment as a place to stay for a family holiday. I will not be returning. 

Weekend stay with my mum 

We were shown to our room no 4 and straight away my husband cleaned the mirrors as they were scruffy. The bedding and towels seemed clean or i would not have stayed and we were out all day, only there to sleep.
The whole place needs an overhaul as there was patchy paint, worn carpets, dead flowers, the showers did not work as the water dribbled at various temperatures. 
The worst of all was an amount of money went missing from our friends purse that she stupidly left in the room whilst we were out all day,  it would be interesting to see if anyone else has experienced this?

Never Again

Just returned from a weekend break to discover £50 missing from my purse which I had left  in my bag in my locked room all weekend. I genuinely thought my belongings would be safe in the room. I rang and reported the theft to the proprietor but he said there was nothing he could do. My friend lost her phone in a pub full of strangers and someone handed it in, that says it all don't you think.

Not the best place to stay

Absolutely awful place. I wouldnt even give it one star if it was possible. Dirty, curtains hanging off. Hairs all over bathroom floor. Sheets dirty. Taps in sink wouldnt work. Window wouldnt close. Considered sleeping in the car it was so bad.

Theatre visit

The room was fine and the full Englishbreakfast was very good.
Our only dissapointment was the the bathroom.  The toilet seat and the lid underneath did not stay up without being held up.  My wife did not like the toilet seat pressing into her back.  We discovered too late to day anything about it but the shower was not working correctly as the was no heated water.  I ran it for a long time trying to get warm water and tried different settings but to no avail.  We were due to go out that evening to a party so we had to make do with a wash basin wash all over as the water was fine
from this tap.
I told them in the morning about the problem but did not get any compensation or even a "Sorry" from the owner.
So if you go to this hotel make sure the shower is working first and then there might be time to get something done about it.
