Booked a table for 6pm New Years Eve,took the booking and my phone No,when we arrived they were not open,didnt have the decency to phone me so based on that I have given a poor rating.I then had to scrambe around for somewhere to eat with my party.

Take bookings then dont even open

We called here for Sunday Lunch, not realising it is really an Italian restaurant but roast beef or turkey were on the menu.  Our meals were lovely and not expensive at £8.50 each.  What seemed strange was that we were the only people in the restaurant so it was a little bit short on atmosphere.  Obviously it's not a very popular place despite being situated on a main road.  We probably won't be returning.

Nice Sunday lunch

2 couples met for Xmas meal. Freezing. Log burner not lit. Empty. Main dish . Hard chicken, sauce , chips, no vegetables. Calamari poor.very expensive for quality. Absolutely not going back. Dispute over which wine was ordered. Food was cold.
Went because last time it was very good.

Had a fabulous lunch with the family here. Lovely food and excellent service. The menu has a good range of vegetarian/vegan dishes which kept me happy. The staff were really friendly and food was very reasonably priced. Can’t fault it. Will definitely be going back.

Excellent Service

A fabulous place to have our 15 guest birthday party celebration. Nothing was too much trouble...we could decorate the table in advance and discuss advance menus. With 4 coeliacs and 2 non-cheese eaters in an Italian restaurant we were pleasantly surprised on the range of options available and how knowledgeable staff were with food preparation. Guests felt relaxed and very well looked after. The food was delicious. Staff were friendly and very attentive. A great choice.

Excellent food, staff and service

The food was lovely and the service was excellent. Would highly recommend, the whole family loved it. They were very accommodating and couldn't do enough for you. A great night had by all,!!!!    Good location     .

Brilliant food

We visited this restaurant today as we were visiting Barton Grange garden centre and wanted a nice lunch. My husband phoned up to book and mentioned that we would be using our Tastecard. The booking was accepted.We arrived and were greeted bt a friendly waiter who explained all the menu options. My husband had the mussels to start and I had the pate.The food was ok but certainly the pate could have been presented better regarding the salad which was just a few lettuce leaves.I had the meatball calzone which was tasty and my husband had the Fisto Misto which was ok and had the same bland lettuce leaves.
We also had two glasses of house red wine and two Pepsi’s,When my husband went to pay it was clear they weren’t going to accept the Tastcard which should have entitled us to a free starter and a free main. The owner/chef came out and I showed him his listing on the TASTECARD app. He laughingly said that this was not his business and nothing to do with him.He said he had no control over the website and the IT!
This has left us extremely disappointed as if we’d known the TASTECARD was not going to be accepted we could have had a much cheaper meal using the happy hour menu. They accepted the booking on the basis we were going to use the TASTECARD.
All the waiting on staff were friendly and attentive.
The restaurant could do with a face lift inside and out.It was also cold and some music only started up after we’d beed there half an hour. Don’t waste your money here.

Mediocre food. TASTECARD NOT ACCEPTED

This place has a habit of changing its name and is currently called Casanova's. 
My wife and her two dining friends are always on the look out for somewhere that suits a trio meeting up from the Lancaster, Fylde and Wyre areas so were pleased to find what they still refer to as the New Holly fits the bill perfectly.
It has been transformed from a fairly standard roadside eating/drinking place into a smart new destination restaurant (or "ristorante"!) serving delicious food at not over the top prices (unless you go for the steaks).
They started with a shared garlic bread then branched out into meatballs in ragu sauce, risotto and lamb with spaghetti. All gained the thumb's up - as did the coffee and the service.They wee all driving so missed out on the wine - but recommend he spacious car park!
And they are going back - which is always a good sign. Let's hope it's still Casanova's when they do.

A change is as good as - a restaurant

This is now known as Casanova's, an Italian Restaurant.  We'd stopped going to this venue earlier in the year because standards had dropped. The new owners have transformed the place with excellent food and service. I'm sure it will now be our regular
choice fordining out

I stayed at The New Holly one night with my couple for a wedding I attended in the area.The room was huge and very comfortable and the bathroom was also very large.Everything was very clean.The staff were very kind and handled the situation very well, receiving so many guests at the same time, they made it easier for us to check in many guests at once when we agreed, between the ceremony and the banquet and we left the suitcases.
