The Quarry House

We've just returned from a great two night stay at Quarry House. Michelle made every effort to ensure we felt safe during covid-19, which was hugely appreciated. We were treated to a delicious afternoon tea on arrival and a lovely cooked breakfast (your choice of breakfast) each morning delivered to the annexe. Quarry House is about a 15 minute drive from Clun, it is in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended place to stay.

We stayed with Michelle for two nights. Our room was spotless, with lots of additional touches due to Covid (remote controls in bags - genius!) We ordered breakfast - which was chosen from a list (Full English one day, Eggs Benedict on another) which was brought to our room at the time we requested it. There was milk, juice, fresh fruit and yogurt in a silent running fridge in our room. Plenty of tea/coffee and shortbread fingers to keep us going. Michelle made a couple of suggestions for dinner which were good value and not far. An amazing two nights. We would thoroughly recommend a stay in this lovely B and B with an incredibly thoughtful owner. Hope to return! 

I had stayed three nights in the annex room at Quarry House whilst walking Offa's Dyke between Knighton and Brompton Crossroads, Quarry House is just a few meters from the path in Newcastle so perfect location.
The room is large and comfortable with and lovely comfortable double bed (as well as single).
Michelle the owner was really helpful and had everything set up so well for Covid 19 security and I felt very safe.
Michelle is also an excellent cook and my breakfast and evening meals were really good.
Michelle also arranged a local taxi to take me to the start of my walks so that I could then walk back to Quarry House.
A great choice!

We had a self contained room which was perfect for us.  It was very quiet and peaceful.  Michelle did us a lovely evening meal because the pub in the village had closed so it was lovely to be able to enjoy our surroundings and not have to go out again.  Michelle and her husband were very welcoming and easy to chat to.  Breakfast was delicious with quite a few different choices.

This B&B is the closest you’ll find to the Offa’s Dyke Path, literally 50m or so. Michelle welcomed us very warmly and is so accommodating, flexible and helpful.  Packed lunches were available without notice and breakfast at any time you like!
The room that we had, an annex across the yard, was spacious, well furnished, clean , modern and comfortable and breakfast was treat, probably the best we had on our whole Offa’s Dyke Walk.
Highly recommended.

Nice clean and comfy room, perfectly quiet, so an excellent night's sleep.
Very agreeable proprietors were prepared to make breakfast as early as we liked, which was much appreciated - when walking all day an early start is a good thing. 
The breakfast itself was top notch - a good choice beyond the usual Full English.

Michelle and her husband were excellent hosts.  Lovely welcome. We stayed in the annex so were self contained, large room, good shower (great after our walking).  We had a wonderful home cooked meal in the evening and a great breakfast (doing a good variety above the standard English fry up).  Quiet and peaceful location, we loved it.

Really great welcome from Michelle and Simon. We were taken to The White Horse in Clun for a meal and picked up afterwards. Excellent breakfast with home smoked bacon. Nothing too much trouble. I can’t recommend it too highly. Not to be missed!!

We stayed at The Quarry House overnight. Lovely clean, comfortable and thoughtful accommodation (for example the addition of a torch as a standard piece of kit in the rooms as no street lighting). Beautiful views. Michelle was very welcoming and helpful before and during our stay - texting to tell us of a road closure on the morning of our journey and ensuring she knew what sort of time to expect us. The breakfast was amazing - the best smoked salmon and scrambled eggs we have ever had. Enormous portions!
