Awful, awful, awful stay.
Followed by awful customer service.

Mould on the windows and broken window catches so you couldn't get rid of the smell of mould. 

Hairs in the bed, broken single bed, room not cleaned and bin not emptied, and the door didn't stay closed or wouldn't open (safety issue). 

Truly horrible night.
I was offered 50% of our money back - that's all 

I have backpacked round the world and stayed in some dodgy places.  This is the worst - and it's in England.  



Worst hostel EVER

Great place to stay. 3 of us were in a pod which was comfortable and fun. There isn’t the room for everyone to stand up inside at the same time  but plenty of storage space. 

Battery pack is clever and allows USB chargers to be connected. Short walk to the shower/toilet facilities but take a torch. Showers were hot and with power.

Fire pit is great, remember to ask for your complimentary logs and kindling. ‘Clubhouse’/bar/kitchen is a nice space with good WiFi which did reach our pod.

Friendly staff; loved it.

Eden Project YHA - great place to stay

It was a very fun experience sleeping in an American airstream. It was decorated cosily. 

The toilets and showers were seperate from the caravan, but not too far and were clean.

It was easy enough to check in and breakfast was available although only available for 1h30 in the morning.

Fun glamping experience

I camp often, including at various YHA hostels across the country, and while I don't expect anything close to luxury for £10 a night, I will not be returning to this campsite. 
Those who are planning on camping here should know that the small area designated for tents is on a hill, with no option for a flat pitch (which makes sleeping quite fun...). Surrounded by those paying upwards of £100 a night for glamping pods with individual fire pits, picnic benches, and YHA supplied portable chargers, it's hard to feel like a valued customer when not even a single communal fire pit or bench is allocated to the camping pitches, other than the tables at the canteen-area. 

For those planning on staying in the luxury airstreams - beware that there are 2 toilets to serve everyone in the bottom field you will be staying in.

Not for campers

Great location. Amazing views from our land pod. The pod was surprisingly spacious with lots of storage and comfortable sleeping space. Nice to have the bench and fire pit outside each pod to use. 
Helpful to have the self catering kitchen and cafe. SC kitchen not as well stocked as other YHA’s I have been to but still fine. 
Air streams and some pods are near communal space so might be easier to use. 
Parking is plentiful although quite a walk from upper field pitches so a trolley is helpful. 
The YHA is well staffed by a young team. Not as attentive or open to feedback as at other YHAs I’ve been to but generally easy to communicate with. 
Power packs in pods for lighting and phone charging. These can be charged at the centre. They take a long time so worth plugging in for the whole day. 
The shower block and toilets are pretty old and run down in upper field. The windows are left open for ventilation but this means the cubicles are full of moths, spiders, flies and slugs. This meant washing children was slightly stressful and not the most relaxing environment for adults either. I feel this let’s the otherwise great site down. 
Lots of walking up and down hill so be prepared for that. Torches are a must for moving about at night and wellies aren’t a bad idea as the grass either side of the well trodden paths is long and wet.

Great location, wonderful views

Totally recommend staying at YHA Eden Project. I stayed with my two daughters, 9 and 13, in a landpod for two nights in the October half term. We were able to walk from there to the Eden Project, so it was just what we needed. The facilities on site were practical, we especially liked the communal kitchen which was not only very clean and useful, but a great place to meet other travellers and hear their stories. The staff were amazing: really friendly and helpful. The whole experience was excellent, we really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend!

Landpod at Eden Project was heaven!

I'm not normally one to leave a review- and definitely not a bad one but on this occasion I am.  I stayed in a landpod with my husband and two sons (7 and 4) in August 22. Firstly, the location is great- walking distance to the Eden Project and great views. That's about the only positives though unfortunately. The boys loved the landpod- but us grown ups were not so keen. It's basically two doubles. The top double is great- you can look out the window at the beautiful view and we were even treated to a firework display but spare a thought for the two sleeping underneath who can't even sit up....The toilets and showers were not cleaned regularly or thoroughly. Often there was no toilet roll or hand soap. The kitchen area is also dirty, ill equipped (take your own tin opener) and the floor needed a good mop. A hose was left unwound for someone to trip over for the duration of our stay. I did complain to the staff at the time to give them a heads up that I was going to email head office 
when I got home. Unfortunately I felt their reply didn't really get to the heart of the problem that the place needs a good clean!
Anyway, onwards and upwards, off to Cheddar YHA for half term so wish us luck 😉🤞

Give it a miss

Had a fun few nights staying in a bell tent at the end of September. The bed and futon were comfortable, the duvets warm and thick, and the wood burner made the evenings warm and toastie. 
The YHA location was ideal, just a 15 minute walk down to the Eden Project. We also used it as a base to visit Lanhydrock House and grounds (NT), Castletown Harbour and Salcombe. A lovely few days away.
The YHA entrance is via the Eden Project Services/Delivery entrance, post code ending in Z.

Eden Project Visit

Place was easy to find. Staff at check-in was nice and informative.
The tents are up a steep hill & you park your car at the bottom and had I known this (being asthmatic) I probably would have opted for the American bus type accommodation as these were on a flat level and close to all amenities.
Anyway, this was a  fault of mine and no reflection on the site.
Toilets are also at the bottom so there was a fair bit of wild weeing going on (haha sorry I wasn't going down up the hill in the rain)
The tent was huge & probably too big for us two plus we went on a cold wet late September night & was difficult to keep warm with the burner. (The burner was another issue as we don't feel we was given enough kindling (just 3 large bits of wood plus slowburning wood) so it was impossible to light, we eventually did with bits n bobs that we could burn to get it going.
It rained all night but we slept well considering. Lighting the fire in the morning with no more kindling was also a challenge. We didn't use the shower facilities as we didn't want to get any colder than we were but thankfully I took festival wipes (not good for the environment considering where we were but was a one off). Overall it was an interesting but good experience but one that has put me off camping for life ha ha

A pleasant overall stay but plan for bad weather

An amazing place to stay if you're visiting the Eden Project. It was a bit chilly in our bell tent in mid September and we had one year old twin babies, but the fire helped and we just all huddled together in one bed with all the duvets. Something to keep in mind for chillier stays. It was a beautiful location and the accommodation options looked great. Would stay again.
