We stayed in Warren House as a family girls weekend and it was fantastic. The pictures before hand did not do the place justice. It was beautifully decorated throughout with plenty of space and room for everyone (and then some). The views from the hottub were amazing and it was a great place to just relax! Would definitely return! 

Wonderful place to stay!

Stayed at Warren House and it was so much better than we had expected. The house catered for eight of us comfortably as the second lounge can easily be used as a double bedroom if needed on top of the three doubles and single upstairs.  Fab table and comfy chairs in the conservatory looking over the grounds meant we didn’t need to go out to eat and we even managed to see a stoat along with squirrels and a muntjac!   Hot tub was an added treat and many hours were spent just chilling in the tub with a glass of bubbles (plastic of course). There is a pool and gym for anyone wanting to add some exercise to their weekend but a walk over the fields to The Bell pub for Sunday lunch was enough for us. All in all a lovely place to stay and can’t wait to go back.

Lovely Spring Break

I booked this lodge for my dads 50th, the lodge was very clean and well maintain. We mainly booked this because of the hot tub which was amazing. You really need to own a car to be able to go places, signal is also very poor. 

Amazing hot tub 

Had a short break over the Easter weekend. We were in lodge 12 which was in a great location. The lodge was clean on arrival and we found we had all the basics required. (If you are planning on cooking then you might need to bring some kitchen items). 
I would say the lodge has a few little issues - mainly due to age - but nothing that would spoil your stay. We had a lovely stay, I think the only thing that would put us off booking again is the price as it is quite expensive for what you get.

Lovely lodge

Nice lodge, all you need.  Hot tub was nice, but could have been cleaner. Good walk to the local pub if you go via the road, cut across the fields coming back and it's half the distance.  No local shops etc, so take what you need.

Relaxing break.

We recently visited warren lodges just for a weekend fri-sun. On arrival we were very happy, the lodges are better then the pictures online! The hot tub was a wicked extra and was at a great temperature when we arrived so we could get straight in. Lodges were pretty clean apart from a small stain on my duvet. Lodge was well equipped and lovely and warm. Would 100% visit again for a weekend. Only thing I will say is the changing rooms for the swimming pool arnt fully built so getting changed in a marquee is very cold especially this time of year! 

Our visit to warren lodges Dec 19. 

We stayed in Orchard Lodge 17 for 2 nights, 2 adults and our 5 year old, just to get away and chill. 

Despite arriving in the rain and dark the Reception staff instantly made us feel welcome. They gave us a couple of maps for the site and a wifi code and the wifi worked perfectly which was surprising due to the other negative reviews re wifi. Granted the phone signal isn’t great but it was enough to ring for a Chinese Takeaway from “Ocean” in Maldon, which we were very happy with!

The lodge was just as the photos of the Orchard were on the website, spacious, modern and clean and had a cupboard to hang coats and leave shoes which in the rain and snow we were very grateful for!! The lodge also has central heating and house size radiators, which worked a dream. The on-suite needed some TLC - lots of dust and cobwebs, damp on the external wall, splashes on the wallpaper around the sink, mould in the shower and the shower door was coming apart, but close the door on that room and we couldn’t fault the place! It had a fully equipped kitchen, a hoover, iron, ironing board, a dishwasher, TV’s in each room (with Freeview) and the hot tub was heaven, even in February. 

We used the on site pool, jacuzzi and sauna on Saturday and all were lovely and clean, to a nice temperature and not too busy. There’s also a gym if that’s your thing... 

We were a little disappointed to find the bar and restaurant weren’t actually on the lodge site but a 15 minute walk (in the dark) and closed in an evening according to Reception, as they’re more for the golf course, where as the website makes out they’re for the lodges too. 

Maldon is beautiful and Mrs Salisbury’s Team Rooms, the Barge Tearooms and the pub Queens Head on the Quay are all worth a visit - lovely food, child friendly and reasonably priced. 

Check out at 10am on Sunday seemed a little early given we were planning to stay all day Sunday so we asked Reception if we could stay any longer. They agreed we could check out at 12pm, for no additional fee, which was a lovely little touch as it allowed us to have a nice chilled morning in the hot tub! 

The one thing I’d change about the lodge is the £100 “damage” deposit. On arrival we were told it wouldn’t be taken from our account but it was! Then on checkout we were told it will take up to 10 working days to refund!!! Why not just take card details and then if there’s any damage take £100, like hotels do?? The customer is at a loss this way and there’s no mention of it taking 10 days on check-in which is cheeky, especially when a family such as ours tidies and cleans the place as if its their own. We didn’t look around the lodge before we stayed - if we had we’d want a discount for the state of the on suite! Make sure you’re clear on this before you book. x

Orchard Lodge 17, Fri-Sun

This is my 8th visit in as many years. Slightly disappointed as upon arrival no hot water and lodge was freezing. Rang the reception desk who promptly came to sort out. After about 15 minutes they managed to get heating and hot water working and it heated up very quickly. Only 1 bath towel per person provided and no bath mats plus in previous years a little welcome pack of a couple of teabags/coffee/sugar/milk was provided but not this year. Reception told us it was due to cut backs. Staff helpful but I know prices are going up and the same break next year is over £100 more but hoseasons please don’t take shortcuts.

Needs improvement

We stayed here from Monday - Friday, the lodge we had paid for was a ‘Basset’ which was supposedly the better out of the two? We were over looked all round meaning no privacy if you’re sitting outside on the decking or in the hot tub. We were led to believe the Lodges had brand new Bluetooth speaker hot tubs expect the one we had was old, dirty and most of the jets hardly worked, it was also too cold and you couldn’t adjust the temperature!! The water didn’t drain away from our walk in shower so if you spent any longer than 1 minute you’d flood the bathroom, the dishwasher and fridge front were peeling with burnt/melt marks. The lodge had wooden blinds which were clearly not dusted regularly. The pillows were cheap and lumpy and the curtains were see-through, meaning as soon as it started getting light it filled the whole room, waking us up (if you hadn’t been woken up by the worlds noisiest bed) The TVs aren’t smart so advise bringing a fire stick or something similar if you want to watch Netflix etc, the TVs were placed extremely high on the wall so couldn’t really see it properly. 
There was no where to hang your coats up, only a small clothes horse to dry towels on (no good for the 6 of you) there was very little lightning when going round to our lodge if you were walking back from attending the gym/swim centre which was dangerous. 
Only pros was there was a basket with complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, milk and jams!, The free use of the pool & gym was a bonus! The gym had state of the art equipment in and staff were very helpful and chatty!

OK..

We stayed at the warren rose suites on Saturday the 1st of June whilst attending a wedding first off to be fair beautiful rooms that’s the plus BUT on the down side the suites are nxt to the car park almost impossible to sleep as the cars make so much noise travelling over the gravel plus a number of peacocks that Called throughout the night I would have had a better sleep on the central reservation of the M25 we had no TV working we asked someone to come and look they said they would but never did not the end of the world but if your paying for something then it should have worked if you going to book to stay there take ear plugs this was the first night of the suites being used so I might sound a bit harsh but it ruined our Ngt hence the review
