Have just enjoyed a delicious two course lunch here.Also a wonderful a la carte
menu available. Service great. A bonus too — a large car park!  Despite it being an old building and rather dark setting inside the food is to die for.

Food and wine Treat

We called in for a bite of lunch and were more or less ignored by the bar staff. We ordered small but expensive Tapas, the only food that appeared to be available on a wall board. We later saw other food being served, so there was obviously a menu hidden somewhere. The eating area was full of dogs, and being a rainy day, the smell of wet dog was overwhelming! We were not made to feel as welcome as the dogs, who were given lots of attention - probably because of their barking! Avoid if you want a relaxed meal in hygienic atmosphere!

I booked a two day stay at this pub, and upon arrival I was shown to my room, a small double room with a separate bathroom. The room overlooked the main road, a very busy main road. Positives during this stay; convenient for friends, pleasant bar and dining areas, car parking onsite. Negatives; a separate bathroom meant that every time I wanted to use the toilet or fill the kettle or get a glass of water, I had to hop next door. The main complaint was the high level of road noise and light pollution. The road noise began at around 5am going on until 1am, it was dreadful, possibly the noisiest room I have ever stayed in, and I have spent my life traveling. It was impossible to stop the outside light from getting into the room, lightweight roman blinds and curtains that failed to cover 50% of the windows didn't help. When I booked the room, no mention was made of the noise problem. In the evening I ate in the bar with a friend, the menu was small but adequate, prawns to start with were good, my main, roasted cod was slightly overcooked and the risotto was just runny rice. My friend had the ribeye and enjoyed it. In the morning after a decent breakfast I informed them I was checking out, and explained why. I was informed that I would have to pay for the two nights, which didn't surprise me, but it was disappointing that they didn't offer a discount for the obvious discomfort I had encountered. Would I stay there again, or recommend it to others, no I wouldn't.

Mid-week break

Took a walk from Lowestoft o find this lovely little deli behind the Tramway Hotel. Great range of vegan savouries and cakes a good value. We loved he quiche and bagel and wished we'd had room for cake! We sat in the courtyard behind the pub and hope this business thrives here as its slightly out of the way.

VeGee Deli  is worth a walk.....

We've been back here a few times now as their roast dinners are always exceptionally good with huge Yorkshires and proper roast beef (usually sirloin or rib eye). Very nice relaxed restaurant area and friendly staff. 

Excellent gastropub

Travelled all over the Outer Hebrides recently and couldn’t get lobster but at the Tramway in Pakefield I have had wonderful lobster twice. Each time cooked to perfection. Marvellous welcome and lunch with great attention from staff. Thanks so much!


Fabulous lunch and amazing lobster

Rooms were a little quirky.    Separate private bathroom (no shower) with only hand and body wash available.   Creaky floorboards.      Room clean and tidy.      Breakfast excellent.   Area not exciting but, quiet.    Welcoming staff.

2 night stay

This restaurant was recommended by a friend and we weren’t disappointed. The tables look great with lovely candelabras. The curry and steak were both superb as were the deserts. The tapas was also really nice! 

A nice bar as well with some great old photos to boot! 

Excellent Monkfish Curry 

Visited for Sunday lunch excellent range of choice for gluten free a bonus.The staff were friendly and very helpful .The food was beautifully presented and delicious.Recommend this place you will not be disappointed.

Food experience delicious a must restaurant only review

A for a first class seafood experiance you must try the smoked fish board as a starter and as a celiac the addition of there home made bred made it even more delicious ,and to top it off the Hake was supream .
The staff are attentive and well informed regarding alagies .

WILl GO AGAIN.
