I was working in the area and our usual stop over was full , and was recommended the new rose and crown, well I could not have been happier, all the staff was very friendly and me feel right at home, it has a great feel of a good old fashioned pub, it was a great place to come back and relax, my room was lovely and everything I needed, breakfast was fantastic I would definitely come back highly recommended five star.. give it a go I don't think you'll be disappointed big thank you to all the staff and new owners.

Had a romantic stayover in the Hereford room- what a great little place! Very friendly and helpful staff, Philippa was especially welcoming and made it a very enjoyable stay. Great food and beer. We'll be back!

Stayed one night and ate in restaurant. 
The check in process was very good, with the owner taking her time to explain everything in detail. The room was as described and in my opinion superb value for money.
The food was excellent, both evening meal and breakfast. Very highly recommended 

Having passed several times we decided to pop in for lunch. Recommended by friends we were certainly not disappointed.
 For me the lunch menu was perfect accompanied by a terrific range of local ‘brews’. Robinson’s cider, Wye Valley HPA and Butty Bach, something for every discerning palate. 
Tough menu to choose from as I would happily have had almost everything, however a Fish Finger Sandwich, with side of Onion Rings seemed different.
 All I can say is AMAZING! 
Picture says most, but great chips, perfectly dressed salad and home made Tartare Sauce complimented brilliantly, Cheese and Onion Sandwich same standard. 
We will definitely be back, thank you for great victuals and fab service🙌.

After our 4 night stay in the Worcester room last year, my Husband and I returned to the Rosie this month, staying for 3 nights in the Hereford room this time.

The room, with its characterful low wooden beams and so many original features ,  was delightful, and the room amenities are thoughtful and comprehensive... a well stocked hospitality tray with teas, coffee (  including decaf)  hot chocolate,  delicious home-made shortcake biscuits which are as light and lovely as an angel’s eyebrows, and a spotlessly clean en-suite,  stocked with snowy white towels,  shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion,  and all manner of other bits and bobs like cotton buds, shower caps etc.  

We had breakfast each morning,  all chosen from the very comprehensive breakfast  menu, and expertly cooked fresh to order by Trudie , who is a wizard at making the perfect scrambled or poached eggs, and the bacon and sausages are locally sourced and obviously high quality.

We had dinner in the pub each evening,  and we can thoroughly recommend the home made burgers,  and the pizza which  is thin, crispy and delicious, topped your choice of veggie and/or non-veggie toppings.  

One evening my husband chose the pie of the day, which was pork, apple and leeks, and it was superb.. packed with meat, and he thoroughly enjoyed it.

Each dinner was preceded by a serving of very fresh warm bread and a pat of home-made herb butter.... delicious!

Chilled tap water is provided in stoppered bottles with “  perfectly drinkable tap water”  etched onto the bottle... an amusing and novel way of presenting it! 

Valerie served our evening meals, and she works very hard to make sure everything is OK,  a nice lady.

The bar prices are very reasonable indeed, with a great selection of wines, gins and other spirits,  guest ales ,  and much more.

All the staff are warm and welcoming, and it was so nice that we were remembered from our previous visit just over a year ago..

Don’t hesitate, whether you are looking for a great value B&B, a lunch or evening meal, or simply a great pub for a drink,  the Rose & Crown has it all, and we will certainly return.

I booked on line and was a little apprehensive when pulling into the car park. It’s on a main road and next to an industrial unit. 

I couldn’t have been more wrong. The rooms are beautiful, spotless and with everything you could need ( even things I hadn’t thought of!) 

The breakfast was beautiful - all beautiful cooked, fresh produce. 

Drinks are reasonably priced. We didn’t eat here but the menu looked great.

If we’re in the area again, I’d definitely choose here.

We stayed here as we had tickets for the Regal Theatre and this is only a 10 minute walk away. A very friendly greeting from Sarah, the room we had was very quaint, very clean and had everything you need. Breakfast was very nice. My husband said the beer was also very good and if you are a gin fan you are really spoilt for choice

My husband and I had 4 nights B&B here from July 9th in  the Worcester room and it was lovely!

The room, whilst compact, was clean, comfortable, and well equipped with everything you could need, with plenty of tea and coffee making facilities, some delicious home made shortbread on the hospitality tray,  and we were shown a fridge at the back of the bar area  on the ground floor stocked with fresh milk (  insulated jugs provided!)  and chilled bottled tap water to take to the room if you wished.

The en-suite,  with a loo, basin and power-shower, was spotlessly clean,  and the towels and other bathroom linens were snowy white and fresh, as were the bed linens.

A good sized illuminated mirror and a selection of nice quality toiletries gave the bathroom a pleasant feel, and showed the high standards of guest care which ran through the whole place.

One day, whilst we’d been out in the nearby countryside, I’d been bitten on the arm by a horsefly, and by the time we got back to the pub, my elbow was swelling and sore around the area of the bite.

I asked at the bar,  if   they by any chance, had a dab of antiseptic cream I could apply to my throbbing painful arm..

They did better than that... I was handed a small spray canister of sting & bite remedy, and told to keep it as I may need to use it in the night, because horsefly bites get a lot more painful before they calm down... Now THAT’s what I call truly caring for your guests!

The freshly cooked to order breakfast had plenty of items to choose from,  as well as cereals,  juices,  toaster with a choice of breads,  and Home-made jams and marmalade, and the service was very friendly and homely.

I’m not human in the morning before I get my caffeine hit,  and the large pot of strong freshly brewed coffee each morning was very welcome.

We had dinner in the pub on each of our 4 evenings, and can honestly say we have seldom had better pub food anywhere in the UK.   

Everything we ordered was delicious and  very nicely presented.  

The prices, for the quality of the food and the  very generous portions, were great value for money. 

Chris and Sarah were warm and welcoming hosts,  and their team of hardworking friendly staff are a credit to them.

If we are ever in the area again,  the Rose & Crown will be our go-to choice for accommodation.

Visited here on a recent trip to the area and was not disappointed. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced, and the staff are so lovely and helpful. We enjoyed it so much the first night, we went back again the next evening! There is a wide menu with vegetarian options, and gluten free options. I would definitely visit again if I was in the area.

We have been using The Rose and Crown quite frequently over the last few months and are always impressed by the constant food quality and the magnificent gin collection.It is a very interesting pub with good parking.we will be returning .
