We booked this as I am from the area but moved to Ireland years ago
Came back to see family it was so nice to have somewhere they could come for a coffee
I've both loved the place it was so quiet at night

Like many people, and for obvious reasons, we opted for a UK "staycation" this year. I was keen to visit the Haworth area, where I hadn't been for many years but of which I had fond memories; my Brontë-loving daughter was also enthusiastic. As we wanted somewhere pet-friendly, Moorlodge looked like a good option and was reasonably priced too.

The accommodation was very good, clean and well-equipped, and actually a bit bigger than I had expected from photographs on the website. Loved the windows. Beds were super comfy. The well-maintained grassy grounds surrounding the property are a huge bonus, and the dog loved it! So much so that she would have been out there every minute of the day, given the chance. Great views, too.

An initial supply of essentials like loo rolls, washing up liquid and hand wash are provided but guests have to bring their own towels (we had plenty of warning about this so not a problem). In terms of other supplies, the apartments are self catering so you have to provide your own. There are supermarkets a short drive away and also a few essentials (tea bags, UHT milk etc) available from reception. There are also several pubs/restaurants a short drive (a few miles) away. You do really need your own transport to stay here though, as due to the country location nothing is very close at hand.

Donna, the manager, is very friendly and helpful and I'm sure would do her very best to deal with any issues that arise for guests. She lives onsite too which is a bonus.

There are various things to do in the area including numerous walks (the reception has some information) and obviously Haworth itself - we enjoyed our visit to the Bronte Parsonage Museum and a very hot and sunny walk up to Top Withens. I would also recommend Cliffe Castle in nearby Keighley for a day out - it has a truly excellent museum surrounded by a lovely park, and a nice cafe too. The nearby Wycoller Country Park is also worth visiting on a fine day. We were lucky to enjoy beautiful weather throughout our stay.

The reception has a small selection of books and DVDs which are free to borrow as well as info on local walks. Perhaps some more leaflets on nearby attractions would be helpful for guests?

No major downsides at all - the WiFi was a bit intermittent in certain parts of the apartment and the phone signal very poor, but we were warned about this at time of booking. Can I also suggest some wooden/silicone cooking utensils perhaps? (There were cooking utensils but they were all metal which is not always ideal.) Otherwise, all was perfect and I would definitely come back here.

Perfect dog-friendly getaway

We have just returned from here after a welcome 2 night break.We stayed in the Jane apartment with our dog.The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay.The under floor heating was lovely.The views from the apartments are spectacular.The area is peaceful with plenty of room to exercise dogs.
Donna was very friendly and helpful.
We will definitely return to these lovely apartments in beautiful Bronte country.

Lovely break away

We stayed at Moorlodge retreat in March ,although it was a sad visit for my brothers funeral ,it is a lovely peaceful area and the apartment Linton we had was lovely ,everything you need ,big enough for the four of us ,very clean .Donna the manager was lovely and does a excellent job ,although contact had to be by tx  because Coronavirus .Would definitely recommend and stay there again .Thank you Donna

We booked here after our original hotel had to cancel due to storm damage! Beautiful old building in stunning surroundings! The apartment was spotless, warm and welcoming. The kitchen area was well appointed, with all we needed to keep us fed during our stay. Reception had a few essentials on sale, tea, coffee, milk, soap, toothpaste etc. The on site manageress popped round once we were settled in to make sure we were happy. We found the rooms to be perfect for our needs, and our dog felt fully at home too! The extreme weather caused minor problem with water finding its way through the door frame, to be honest we were surprised it was not more if a problem. When I let the onsite manageress know she instantly offered a
n alternative room but as we were settled we declined, so she dropped us off some towels to contain the leaks.
The only downside was one other guest who couldn't be bothered to pick up after her dog. My only negative point is a lack of somewhere to leave muddy footwear and wet coats, will we be going back? Too right!

Family, pet friendly in an ideal location

Visited with my Husband & 8 year old son.

We know the area well as we have had many trips to this Idylic place with it's quaint charm.

The first time staying in these cottage type apartments,( our regular bolt holes here closed last year) & we was not disappointed!

Set in a picturesque & quiet setting these comfortable & well equiped apartments have all you could need. They are within easy reach of Oxenhope & it's working steam railway & train museum, complete with a staionary cafe train so you can take a steam train to Keighley for shopping or just enjoy lunch & watch the trains steam in & out.
Howarth is another must visit & is in easy reach too, the main cobbled Street is another step back in time.

So pleased to have found this country retreat.
With their amazing views over the Bronte countryside. They sleep from 3 to 7 persons I believe & are fully equiped for a relaxing stay.
They have a few essentials to hand in reception should you forget something.
Take your own towels as these are not provided but we all have them so it's not a problem.
Will be back!

Lovely setting, lovely apartment, lovely owner. Great price. Amazing place to get away. Couldn't ask for anything more within apartment and owner very friendly and welcoming. Also gave us a later checkout without even asking. Would definitely recommend.

I booked Bronte for a little 2 night break, for me, Hubby, little boy and dog. The cottage is small but absolutely perfect for what we wanted. I like to be able to put little one to bed and have a place to unwind / relax without disturbing them.

The beds were comfy, the place was spotless, it had everything we needed for a short break. We ate out whilst there so we didn't actually use the cooking facilities, but there is a toaster, microwave, Oven and fridge and all the utensils you need. I liked the fact that the cleaning materials were there for washing up and wiping down etc.

The only little drawback was the lack of any little welcome back of coffee / tea on arrival. I know its self catering but after a bit of a drive, it would have been nice to have a brew before we had to start unpacking..maybe a couple of sachets of coffee / tea would be a nice touch?
They do have a little shop area in reception selling bits and bobs. 

I didn't meet the hosts as the key was in the keysafe on arrival, but there were no issues coming and going, parking is plentiful and there are some friendly ducks that like to say hello.

The place is quiet and relaxing and there are some nice eateries a little drive away. We ate at the Wuthering Heights the first night and the Grouse on the Second. The Grouse was really outstanding. 

We went into Howarth for Breakfast and then a little walk along a river to "Hardcastle Crags" which has a little cafe midway through. the next day we went to another world adventure my little lad loved all the activities there. 

I would 100% recommend a stay at this little complex, its a little hidden gem and look forward to visiting again.

Total Relaxation

Just returned from a 2 night break. There was 7 of us and we stayed in Linton. We all absolutely loved it.....it was just perfect!
From collecting the key to check out we had the best time. The apartment had everything we needed...was lovely and clean. 

Donna was super efficient and so lovely and friendly and text us 2 days before arrival with all the relevant info and route instructions to enable us to find the retreat easily. 
We visited Haworth on Sunday and it was only a 8 minute drive up the road. 
We will definitely return!

Perfect! 

We stayed as a family of 4 for 2 nights, it was very cosy, and in a idilic location. Underfloor heating, great shower and separate bathroom. Beds comfortable and lovely lounge, would certainly be back.
