We are a family with teens and younger children, found the place to be exactly what we expected and needed. Good clean accommodation, a soft play for younger guests, was a children's club on when we were there, which we didn't have time for but looked well attended. We brought a dog, great to find somewhere that just welcomes dogs. Pets seem to be welcome in a part of the restaurant. We have booked to stay again in October.  

School holidays.

Had a lovely apartment ground floor,very clean and tidy staff were very friendly and helpful and made it clear if there was anything we needed to just ask! Monkey puzzle restaurant food was very nice we had a Sunday roast there was just so much on the plate well worth the money best to book a table as do get very busy and again staff were lovely and helpful! Bus stop just outside where you can catch 301 to Combe Martin and just across the road 301 to Barnstable, the hill is fine walking down but a bit steep coming up taxis are cheap or the 301 comes past! Buses in ilfracombe 21 are very regular they will go into the high street a nice place to visit highly recommend.

Lovely park and apartments

We stayed here for a friends birthday, we had a superior apartment it was clean and  a good size. Really welcoming staff, and happy to help. The park was quiet, but this did not bother us. We ate in the Monkey puzzle a few nights, such yummy food! Overall a good weekend away.

Lovely Stay

Our experience was very positive room clean, comfy bed,everything we needed on site pool sauna very nice staff very nice and helpful food nice banging breakfast only negative was no entertainment on as it rainy couple days could have done with some as Ilfracombe town is not walking distance great stay would go again 

Great stay

We stayed just one night, however we were happy with our choice. Sadly being out of season, nothing going on in the park, food entertainment etc. The accommodation was OK two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen & lounge. The town is only 5 minutes away by car or taxi. Would we stay there again Yes. As there are steps to some of the accommodation, if disabled, it would be good idea to check before 
booking.

Arranged to visit the park. Noticed the had a spa attached. Contacted the park and they passed on the masseuse Lynette's number.easy to arrange a massage. She was amazing I would highly recommend her.
The park in general is a bit tired, the bar on Saturday 26th August, (bank holiday weekend) should have been buzzing it was dead.... No entertainment, drink was sensible prices. I think the management are daft not providing music. We went back to the apartment with a bottke of wine we bought earlier in the day. 

Spa amazing, holiday park just ok 

We were having work done on the house so needed accommodation. Booked a cheap dog friendly holiday with hoseasons, few days before we were about to go, hoseasons cancelled it and left us with nowhere to live that week. Over booked apparently.
Ilfracombe holiday Park was the only holiday park in the entire country that had space to take us for a similar cost (as hoseasons wouldn't pay any difference for more expensive accommodation) hoseasons told me there was no where available, I found this park myself after a 20 second Google search.
We were grateful but annoyed we weren't going where we had planned in sommerset as we had planned days out etc.
When the booking was swopped over they left my daughter off and forgot to tell us they needed a 75.00 deposit at Ilfracombe holiday park.
(A bad sign straight away, who pays a deposit going on holiday, I take 5 holidays in the UK a year, iv never paid one before)
The information arrived on paperwork 1 day before leaving.
I rang the park, there was no avoiding the fee.
We didn't have £75, this was not a holiday to us, it was work to our house. I had £100 for food and activities all week. They made us pay 75 deposit and left us with £25 for the week for food and entertainment.
Before you arrive you have to fill in a form with all your booking details, car registration, personal info etc, it all seemed an unnecessary waste of time.

When we got there, it was belting down so the park kindly allowed us to check in early, staff were friendly and nice, the location is perfect and you can walk into Ilfracombe easily, we were very disappointed with the room.
Rust up the fridge, carpet that was 3 inches short of fitting the room, the door handle was broke to the bedroom, coffee table wobbly, remotes battery's had run out, the cooker knob came off in our hands (as was just placed in the hole) the one saucepan had a handle that is dangerously loose, no oven baking sheets to cook on, no cover on the dirty drain in the shower, loose toilet seat, stained sofa, burn on the carpet, pictures hanging off the wall by one side, bedroom draw had no knob, dirty towel in the room, dust balls in the corners on the floor, knocks, holes and scrapes all over the walls, very shabby.  A gutter above the door that soaked you dripping even when it wasn't raining, there's basic and then there is this, not even a hook anywhere for coats.
 I could have cried.
We complained at reception but he couldn't move us as it was the last room available.
There was between 3-5  cars on the carpark for the entire weekend.
The park didn't fill up until the mon night when it got busy.
We felt they could of moved us and had a few days to sort this room out for someone else.

We spent the whole week out walking and had a few visits to the pool (which was ok) we couldn't try the restaurant etc due to our money situation.
Half way through the week we plugged in the toaster and it blew all the electrics, in fairness the staff were friendly and were on it straight away but it shouldn't happen.
There is no hoover in pet accommodation, we were living in 6 inches of dog hair 2 days in, we did borrow one but it seemed trouble as they had to ring the cleaning team to get permission. These should be in pet accommodation already.
We would be helping you to clean.

The people in the next room put the final nail in the coffin, they left their front door open and allowed their dog to run in and out freely all week. Having a dog that is a rescue dog and is nervous, being jumped on everytime we needed to go out was a nightmare.
The dogs lucky mine didn't bite, (speaking to the owners and explaining didnt help)
Dogs shouldn't be freely running around a holiday park.
On leaving the park, we checked our account and the pending transaction  of 75.00 for the deposit still hadn't gone through.
2 weeks later the money never authorised and its still sat in the account, we haven't dared to touch it incase it goes out and is then refunded back.
We could have enjoyed that money at the park?
Shame for the staff that the park is so run down because the location and staff were doing their best.
If this was our main holiday i would have been mortified.
Definitely won't be back and definitely won't use hoseasons again.


Dont go.

So …. We booked the apartment for four, 2 adults and 2 teenagers. 

The positives: 
Parking was easy, rooms were functional and clean but very basic …. The kids enjoyed the pool. 

Not so good …. 
The buildings are not really aesthetically pleasing,  it’s a little bit more “barracks”  looking.  

The plan was that we were going bbq along with two other families that were also staying after seeing the website specifying there being a bbq area. After looking around the holiday park we couldn’t find this area - we went and asked at reception to be told they didn’t actually have a Bbq area and that we could use the picnic bench in the car park. Not really a favourable option so we ended up grilling …. Disappointing. 

The location is ok for Ilfracombe but beware it’s a very steep incline on the way back up to the holiday park. 

To sum up - it was functional and in the main net our needs for a base to explore but I don’t think I could have stayed more than two nights.

Basic, functional - ok but could be better

The entire place is very run down. From the mould in the shower to scratches and stains all over the walls.  Check in was fine, we found our room at th e top of the rickety staircase and we had a sea view from the top bedroom window. 
Th me kitchen and everything you’d need but I was pretty grubby. The living room was ok, small telly and highly uncomfortable couches with other people’s popcorn down the back and underneath.

Beds were what you’d expect, shower was mouldy and pretty dismal. 
Pool had advertised hours but these seemed to depend on the whim of the staff who announced it was closing an hour earlier on one of the days we went swimming. The pool changing rooms had lots of pipes sticking out, unfinished and dirty.

Mouldy, rotting and just not nice

Accommodation ok, filthy comers and radiators, bathroom awful.
Looks like a prison camp, bins overflowing with rubbish, stairs taped off, handrails rickety, banisters and stairs rotten.
Clubhouse was nice but freezing cold because of the air con, food was nice and the portions were generous.
Swimming pool nice as was the sauna.
I wouldn’t recommend it and I won’t be going back!
