Despite the obvious damage to the property as a result of roof damage, the wonderful character of the building shines through. It is a delightful place in a magnificent rural setting. The staff were a delight and very attentive. The breakfasts were great and the 2 evening meals were also good. I am sure when the not unsubstantial renovations are completed this hotel will be an absolute gem.

Organised an afternoon tea for myself, grandma and mum, we did have two people drop out last minute  however, they was so understanding when we arrived. 
They had amazing attentiveness and kept the room warm with an open fire and heaters. The food and drinks was lovely and arrived swiftly with a constant top up of hot tea. 
The staff was so friendly and allowed a little tour of the house which has panoramic views of lovely country lands.
The house does need some works doing due to recent storms however, we was informed it was all getting fixed very soon.

Afternoon Tea

We came for Sunday lunch. The ambience was incredible. The service was impeccable. Everybody was so helpful and friendly. We felt totally looked after the food was superb but we had beef and chicken cocktail to start and soup and one dessert. It was quiet, relaxing just perfect. really recommend this place, we have booked to come back on Valentine’s Day night and it’s dog friendly too

If you want a peaceful lunch with excellent customer service and superb food, and this is the place for you

I had an amazing experience at Rowley Manor. There was good food, excellent service, and breathtaking views! Although the building might use some maintenance, the ambience created by the open fire more than made up for it! Excited to come back and have more delicious food against that gorgeous scenery.

Amazing experience

Was taken to Rowley Manor for a birthday afternoon tea. The hotel is an old country house and all the decor is in keeping
The tea was lovely with a good selection of sandwiches and cakes all served on bone china. The staff were very welcoming and attentive with offers of more tea as required

Afternoon tea

We went as a family on Christmas Day to what we thought would be a memorable lunch, 4 generations of family. It was memorable for all the wrong reasons service was terrible people serving food dressed as if they had been grabbed off the street no uniform or any understanding how to serve. The actual meal was generally inedible cold and not served together,I’ve never had a beef Wellington pasty before and still haven’t as the beef was so tough you couldn’t eat it . Christmas pudding was popped out of the container microwaved and still wasn’t hot.During the meal we complained along with the majority of people there they acknowledged that it wasn’t up to standard and promised a partial refund. I have now been told that it is not company policy to give refunds and we could have a free meal instead. Seeing as the group we were with are from all over Europe I said we wouldn’t be able to get together again, to which I got a shrug of the shoulders , never would I use this restaurant again 

Disappointed Christmas Meal no after care

We had a lovely overnight stay for our anniversary and were pleasantly surprised to receive a free upgrade to a fabulous four-poster bedroom with beautiful views over the Yorkshire countryside and people playing croquet on the lawn. The 400 year old rectory building is full of history, character and old school charm. It is a bit creaky of course, due to its age, but is going through a renovation programme so look forward to seeing the improvements. The only thing it really lacks is a beautiful antique clock on the mantle piece in the wood panelled room! The vegetarian breakfast was also very tasty and the resident peacock family was a joy to watch. Hopefully, we'll be back  soon.

Whole place needs cleaned. After 10pm on the second day of my stay (confirmed on check in) got a call asking why my stuff was still in the room. Very bizarre. Rushed back to sort and was told ‘oh it’s ok’. The hotel advertises as luxury. This is not the case by any measure.

Not luxurious

A very tired and dated building. We had book an evening meal, but they didn't have a chef. The beer was stale. Breakfast doesn't start until 8.30 which was too late for us. No brown bread. Tea water was too cold. Cups too small.
