We stayed at the Travelodge on Good Friday whilst visiting family. As we weren’t going to be going out and wanting a quiet night, I asked if we could have a room away from the doors and this was kindly done for us. The room was clean and pleasant for us to stay the night and I would happily stay again. The hotel is in a good location by the main roads, but set back so you don’t hear any noise and it’s a good base to go back to, to sleep.

Good value and location

The very first time that I have been to a Travel Lodge. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and the room I had was very clean with bathroom for shower or bath with soap for bathing and hair washing and again clean. The bed was very clean too with all bedding freshly clean. There was tea and coffee facilities and TV, breakfast was of extra cost, but well worth the money..  I have no hesitation to stay there again.

Nice stay at Cringlewood

Choose this travelodge for its free parking and for the price. Turned out to be disappointing. The hotel badly needs a refit. Rooms are old and smell stale. Bathroom plumbing noisy. Doors are still using keys and heavy and noisy to close. No restaurant but a new McDonalds across the road which was fine as the nearby Burger King and Subway looked less than appealing. I would not recommend this hotel if you want a good nights sleep.

Cheap but needs a refit

We had a comfortable stay at this hotel located on the outskirts of the city. The staff were friendly and informative. It would have been nice to have a restaurant on site but there is a Berger King and McDonald’s next to the hotel. The only minor issue was that bathroom was a bit tired. 

Visiting family.

Comfortable not noisy slept well but the thickthorn roundabout a nightmare till you've done it a few times. Signage to the travel lodge off the roundabout could be better not easy to find and car park lights need to be on at night to help park but otherwise I stopped an extra night and pleasant nights sleep but could do with decorating as getting a bit faded. 

Cringleford travel lodge

We booked a room with a double bed. On arrival my partner was in agony with a bad hip and sciatica. To enable her to have a comfortable nights sleep the ladies in reception changed our room at no cost to a room with an extra bed. Really good of them.

Yearly trip to Norwich

I booked in advance and paid for three nights in Travelodge Cringleford.  Hayden rang at about 7pm on day 1 to ask when I'd be arriving - I responded '11pm' and he replied that was fine.  I arrived at exactly that time to find I had no room:  Hayden (yes, the same fellow) said they overbook as a matter of policy 'To allow for no-shows' and when that happens it's first come first served.  He also said guests arriving to find they had no room in that Travelodge happens 'Several times a month'.

I asked why he hadn't rung me to tell me, having called me earlier to confirm the booking, he told me he'd been busy 'Doing jobs'.  As a (regular) Travelodge customer, I now I know my place in their business plan, and it's not pretty.

So, if you're expecting a room when you turn up at Travelodge Cringleford for a pre-paid, confirmed booking you, like me, have potential to be sadly mistaken.  

Diabolical

Although our room was clean it could done with a full upgrade along way behind other hotels. Staff were ok but looked really fedup. Noise on second night from younger people (after 12) smell of pot down passage ways. Not near anywhere for a meal out.

be aware

We booked this Travelodge because of the location to Norwich hospital. Which my granddaughter was attending the following morning for surgery.
On arrival we were greeted with two men drinking alcohol outside the entrance to the travel lodge. Not a great first impression. A very strong smell of weed to follow.
The man on reception was polite enough and booked us in. The room was tidy and clean.
We went out for dinner again greeted by the two men who were still sitting there drinking.
Overnight it was noisy with the corridors being used as a social area with a very strong smell of weed in them. We did phone down to reception, at our cost. The nightman did go down and speak to them.
Overall not a very pleasant experience. We would not book a travel lodge again.

Not what we expected.

Pleasantly surprised, overpriced for a basic hotel. Comfy nights sleep, need more tea/coffee supplies - staff were pleasant and quick to replace - ok for an overnight stay, limited food options, subway was good
