The Galleon Inn

Really good pub with outdoor seating right on the estuary. Reasonably priced food, nice welcoming staff and very close the ferry back to Polruan. I'd highly recommend the hake.  Review guidelines suggest I say more but I would say just visit and enjoy your food on the estuary with lovely views.

We had a lovely overnight stay at the Galleon Inn. They easily accommodated a change of date. The room was perfect, with a large, comfortable bed and a gorgeous view with a Juliet balcony directly overlooking the Fowey estuary. Breakfast was very good. 

Good food my dad and me had the chilli very nice and my Nan had the jacket potatoe with prawns we also went back later for a drink they were very helpful in providing us the key for the disabled toilet my nan uses a wheel chair thank you 😃

A lovely place, with rooms across from the pub. Bright modern decor, with a bathroom that was big, clean and modern. It had air-conditioning that worked well.

Brekky was generous and tasty (with options like full English, or a more local style mackerel or kippers with poached eggs). I really liked this place & would definitely stay again. The location is amazing, right on the water in a gorgeous little town. Parking can be a little tricky though, so look into it before you arrive. 

The staff were really nice too. 

Ok, it's awkward to get to with no parking but the car park along the road is good and a lovely walk back.
The room overlooking the estuary is cosy, clean and the view is stunning. Can be a bit noisy with the terrace below but it's a pub.
Whitebait and squid rings were lovely, lots of other choices. Good beers and ciders.
The ladies serving breakfast on May 22nd were amazing. So friendly and welcoming. A credit to the place.

Very accommodating, staff is very friendly and locals are great to talk to. Food is very nice, would definitely recommend if you are in the area. We had a great time and are very glad we visited this pub.

Price included a lovely breakfast and the staff were really friendly and couldn’t do enough .

The view over the river was to die for , would recommend Fowey well worth a visit 😊

We stayed at the Galleon at height of the heatwave when Fowey was very crowded.  The ensuite room was quite small but entirely adequate, very clean smart and well equipped including quiet and effective air-conditioning which was very welcome! The staff were friendly and helpful and the food, while definitely "pub food", was nicely cooked.  Very pleasant stay.

We stayed in the Cormorant Room which was modern and very clean. Breakfast was served by two lovely ladies who were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and plentiful.
Meals at night were good but the uncomfortable chairs did not encourage you to linger for more drinks.

We popped into the Galleon on a rainy evening in Fowey expecting them to be full, but they easily seated the four of us at about 8pm. We all had pizzas, which were fantastic and just what we needed! The staff were friendly and efficient, and we weren't forgotten about even though we were tucked around a corner. We had a nice view over the harbour from the window next to us. They accept dogs which is good. We'll definitely be back!

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting

We decided to eat here for lunch. The food is lovely, they could do with a slightly lighter menu for lunch but the food is very good. The portions are large, and at lunch, there are plenty of tables with great views. The only problem is the service can be a little abrupt, I know they don't start serving food until 12 midday, but should I be turned away from ordering at the bar at 11.57am? By the time we have placed the order, done the drinks, and paid, it would have been past 12 anyway. All this does is create a queue at the bar at dead on 12, so it doesn't manage the flow of checks into the kitchen any better than if they took them before 12 but didn't start cooking until then. A shame, a little more helpfulness front of house, would make this place a 5 star without question.

Great food, service needs a step up

Great food. Dog friendly. On busy nights service is slow but the wait is worthwhile. Superb food. Lovely views of Fowey river. Bit busy due to England playing Slovenia. Great value for money. No evidence of shortcuts in food prep although they must have been stressed by it being so busy.

Top notch cusine

Very expensive but a lovely much needed stay -  after a sleepless previous night.   Thought it would be noisy being a popular bar & restaurant, but grateful for a back room overlooking roofs.  Slept like a log!  Lovely breakfast, no complaints.  Happy to recommend.
