I have not visited this hotel before and wanted something that was central, comfortable and clean.  The Walkergate Inn fulfilled this and exceeded my expectations.  Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Will definitely stay here again the next time I return to Durham to see friends. 

Very happy guest

Nice hotel, just what I wanted. Right in the town centre and next to parking for my minibus, which was the most important thing for me, as I was picking my boy up from Durham uni, after three year and all his things he has accumulated in three years .

Loverly stay

Very pricey drinks and food with a very limited menu, I've stayed in other Premier inns around Dand would prefer to use them in future 

Disappointed

One of the best Premier Inn's we've stayed in. Recently refurbished, clean and attractively decorated. Great staff. Good location for Durham centre without being in the hustle and bustle. No on site parking but a public around 100 metres away with discounted rate. Decent breakfast choice.

An excellen Premier Inn

Good location, Nice room, had a problem with the drains smelling which the staff could not fix, we had a Plumber in our party he said it was the Pea trap no water in it, we fixed the smell and did not charge them a penny. which is good from a Yorkshireman.

Durham Miners

2 nights for £75 was a great deal for this popular hotel. Well located for all the attractions of Durham.  If you are arriving by train and have lots of luggage, grab a taxi rather than tackle the many steep steps down into town.  All the bedrooms and corridors have just had a full refresh into a new house style and look great.  The triple glazing is amazing at keeping the outside world at bay.  Only niggle was the new style air con control panel on the wall which is totally different to the one described on the  instruction card in the room.  It also didn't help that on my 1st night the system was unable to deliver heat in the way it did on my 2nd night.  There are lots of staff always on duty and very friendly and pleasant to deal with - I felt a great team spirit going on.  The ground floor public areas are due a full refit at the beginning of 2024 at which point the fraying furniture will be replaced.  The restaurant menu is due an imminent change too.  I'd be more than happy to stay here again when the price is right.

Continuous Improvement

Excellent, it looks like they have everything in place and correct, the room was the best i have seen and I look forward to coming back next year, close to public transport and city centre yet was very quiet. 

Great

Premier Inns are always clean and comfortable but this one is supremely so. Pristine bedroom and bathroom, comfortable beds (including the "extra" bed, which is a proper single, not just a glorified camp bed), and a great little lounge and bar area in the lobby which makes the hotel feel like a place you want to hang out and relax.

But best of all are the staff - every single one friendly, welcoming, doing little things to make the stay special, like bringing over to our table freshly-cooked eggs and sausages at breakfast when they had run out, so you didn't have to stand around waiting at the buffet.  

And of all the staff we have to give a special mention to Robbie, who was just a star - from arranging early check-in to telling us where the rest of our party was at any moment to exchanging a laugh and a joke.  He was always ready with a smile and a helpful attitude. 

Robbie & his colleagues really made our stay feel unexpectedly special & we wouldn't stay anywhere else when we come back.

Supremely helpful staff and great location make this a reasonably-priced hotel that exceeds expectations

Slight wary owing to proximity to bars etc on a Friday night but didnt hear a thing
Shower needs to warm up quicker. Walkergate ca park needs sign so you know what floor best for hetel-they do it for Nandos

Well done

I enjoyed my one night stay here. This hotel has friendly staff and a good location. The room was pleasant and clean and had everything I needed. The immediate surroundings of the hotel are not particularly charming, but Durham's charming city centre is just a five minute walk away.
