Basic Hotel - friendly staff - NO mobile phone reception - Ideal Location for access to the Edinburgh Bypass - Very adequate breakfast - The family room was smaller than normal - The WIFI was very poor - The lack of a phone reception was a serious issue

Eskvale Premier Inn

We stayed here whilst visiting family over the festivities. The room itself was extremely dated and it had a pretty stale smell. We didn’t go expecting luxury but we expected a basic standard of cleanliness - which wasn’t present. There were bodily hairs in the corners of the bathroom and some strange stains on one of the pillows - we swapped this out for one of the spare ones located in the room. 

Overall, I can’t say I’ll be back.

Visiting family over Festivities

Premier Inn hotel was lovely and the staff were too, however Table Table next door are terrible with rude staff that could not care you need to eat due to a medical condition and tell you to take it up with Premier Inn.

Brilliant hotel, terrible business relationship with the restaurant next door

Do not eat here, the breakfast was awful. We waited for 1 hour and 20 minutes, even though we had booked. And it was not worth waiting for. We were 5 of a party, and nobody finished their breakfast. The food is obviously the cheapest they could buy, the quality was poor. And the way it was prepares was terrible. I normally stay here for convenience, but never eat an evening meal because of a couple of poor meals. I will never eat breakfast here again.
Doubt if I will stay here again, time to find somewhere new; Premier Inn has gone downhill recently.

Awful Fod

This Prem Inn is so old and outdated, I'm sure ABBA were still in the pop charts.

Tired and basic, more of a Travel Lodge than a Travel Lodge, silicon in the bathroom was put on by a 3 year old. 

I'm no longer watching Doctor Who but this hotel also takes you back in time. 

Not sure we can buy TVs this small, a 14 in her. Shower using a 'stick to you' shower curtain, how dated.

Go back in time to this tired old basic hotel

The hotel was good, clean sheets, snow white towels and an excellent shower. Staff at hotel extremely friendly and helpful.  Can't say the same about the table table restaurant. Staff surly, food quality very average and last orders at 9.30 on a Sunday.  Go to Dobbies nearby for a much better breakfast, half the price and friendly serving staff.

Have stayed at this Premier Inn on numerous occasions; Its always clean and everything that weve come to expect from a Premier Inn. A quick phone call before date of our stay and housekeeping staff fit the bed risers to assists wife's mobility. Always a friendly greeting at reception. We have previously eaten in the Table Table attached to this site and always had a good meal. but within a short distance there is a Dobbies, store who also do very good meals.

Quiet, convenient location when travelling to and from northern Scotland

Great stay at premier inn Dalkeith.  Staff really friendly but no over imposing. We used as a base to visit family so out most of day but room was quiet, warm clean and great showers.
Everything you could need for a few days away.

Everything was as you'd expect from Premier Inn
Only gripes were car parking bays need re-painting, needs a light outside re eption as there are steps and difficult to see at night and finally, get bigger TV's - we're in the 21st century for gods sake! 

Catered for

Friendly staff, comfortable room, good breakfast food cooked to order.   Yoghurt choice was poor, strawberry or Greek only.   Breakfast service also good, though it was difficult to recognise staff as they were dressed in track suit bottoms and hoodie or other clothing similar to customers.   In fact my colleague asked a customer for service as staff were not easily recognisable.   I will certainly stay at this hotel again when I have meetings in Edinburgh.   Short train ride takes on straight into Waverly.
