From the moment I arrived after a long journey, the staff were lovely. I was greeted with a smile and nothing was to much trouble. The bedroom was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant on both nights of our stay and the food was amazing again along with all the servers. We will definitely be visiting again.

Amazing visit

The food was very nice.Just one problem, the steak was a bit cold. They did offer me an extra drink.But I did not want that. But they did take the drinks that we had off the bill. This was not what we were looking for. We just wanted a really nice experience and good food. Our waitress did look after us and she was very good. Her name was Many.
We will go again and hopefully the experience will be very good or excellent.  If the steak was hotter, I would give a better review.

Steak-day out

Very good place to come for a friendly catch up, brilliant food and brilliant service from the young girl Morgan!!! Will definitely be returning. Couldn't recommend enough to anyone thinking of coming to this pub, it will not dissapoint..

Excellent

I visited on the 25th of march and had a nice meal 8oz rump steak and it was very delicious thankyou to the chefs for making it also a very big thankyou to Morgan for her great service served me my drink and even asked me if i wanted a lime in it and served me with a positive attitude she is definitely a great member of the cocked hat team
I will definitely be returning as I had a brilliant experience this evening

Brilliant experience

Just wanted to leave a quick review to say a huge thankyou to Liz, as I write this we are being battered by storm Bebet is North East Scotland and we have widespread disruption due to flooding and damage to trees and overhead cables with the main road to England completely cut off for over 100 miles.

We where booked and set to attend the GCCF supreme cat show, and then the weather hit, I contacted the property early this morning to explain our situation and spoke to a very friendly and helpful lady named Liz, she was very reassuring and talked me through what to do in order to get out money refunded, to be so helpful, understanding and friendly at 7am makes her a real credit to your company, when we come to book for next year's show your hotel will be first on our list, thankyou.

Very Helpful, understanding  and Friendly Staff

Nice hotel, room was nice & handy having pub next door which has decent pub food. Unfortunately our room was right by the motorway meaning the noise from constant traffic made it very difficult to sleep 

Nice hotel but noisy motorway 

Just got back from spending a night here. We chose this place as it wasn’t far from the wedding we attended at Coombe Abbey. Room was adequate with added touch of iron and board plus a hair dryer. Bed was very comfy too.
However our only gripe was the breakfast situation. After ordering our breakfast we waited almost 40 minutes before I asked the lady what the situation was for which she said it would be a couple of minutes which it was. It came with no mushrooms which was stated on the menu that it included them. When I asked about them I was told that they had run out which is fairer enough but why not offer us an alternative like an extra sausage or something. The bacon was quite fatty too.
All in all a decent stay just a pity the breakfast experience let it down.

Overnight stay in Coventry

I really enjoyed my stay here in Coventry. I would say it’s the right price for this accommodation type. The room was quiet and clean and a good temperature which are my fundamental requirements. The bathroom would  benefit from some renovation  as the shower although clean has a mould issue. 
I also really enjoyed eating in the pub restaurant,  dinner and breakfast. They had a good selection of vegetarian options. All the staff were lovely . Ellis and Lizz provided excellent customer care.. Thank you.

An enjoyable stay

Popped in for Sunday dinner,  Beckie our waitress was absolutely lovely,  very prompt and professional,  food was very enjoyable,  overall lovely visit, thank you Beckie and chefs!!!! Will be visiting again!

Great visit!!!

Becky and Liz who worked in the  restaurant and reception were exceptional. Overall the accommodation is dated and the entrance area to the rooms has a strong smell of damp. In contrast the breakfast was good quality.
