Went for a Christmas meal with family and had a lovely time wonderful food and the staff were lovely nothing was too much trouble will be going again definitely went last ye ar and didn’t enjoy so what a difference well done to all

We had a family reunion there the place looks run down the furniture was a mis match of all sorts we even had a a chair hanging on a chain from the ceiling there was no wardrobe just a rail the view from the window overlooked rubbish tip we paid £100 plus £15 for the dog don’t know how they can say it’s three star also the breakfast was poor 

Should be maximum two star and thats being generous 

The Jacobean is a great independent hotel close to Allesley. We stayed for one night whilst visiting family. The rooms are clean and comfortable and well decorated, perhaps showing signs of wear and tear. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with good quality plentiful food. I would recommend

Extremely disappointed could have been a lot cleaner curtain looked and felt shiny as they were so dirty , the bed were absolutely shocking, they were so uncomfortable you could not move in them without a racket, the bathroom could have been cleaner ,big chucks of wood missing around the toilet door frame ,not that we watched the TV but the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel ,when we checked in the girl on reception was pleasant we had to pay for our dog in cash ,which was not problem. later that night we went to the bar and purchased 3 drinks ,when my husband went to pay for them in cash the girl behind the bar said we do t take sterling money we explained that it was British currency it was just Scottish notes and it was legal tender ,she said she would have to check ,then the girl from reception came through same one that earlier took my money ,we explained the situation, first she said the bar staff have not been trained properly,that alone says a lot about the hotel ,again we explained it was legal tender to be told by her , she didn’t have to take our money it was up to her if she did , to me that’s totally wrong   way to treat a guest and it was getting a bit heated as she kept saying it’s up to me , I really don’t think as a boss I would not be happy with a member of my staff treating guest in that manner eventually she took the money .
Breakfast was the best thing about the hotel it was lovely and so were the member of staff there they could not do enough for you,
Good Location 

Poor experience of Jacobean Hotel 

Absolutely beautiful hotel on the outskirts of Coventry City. Our room was amazing. Truly comfortable double bed, flat screen facing you! A chill space (with another flat screen!)
And THEN a mezzanine with a Double End Roll Top bath 😉
Obviously a flat screen! 
Back down in bed area, a wonderful walk in Rainhead Shower, with separate toilet/basin
The ONLY point that we found uncomfortable was that there are no doors separating toilet from sleeping/chill area. So from that respect, there's no privacy. 

Apart from that, wonderful.

Beautiful grounds with seating areas for a pint and bar snacks. 
A full A laCarte restaurant with exceptionally good value quality dishes. 
A small menu (always a guarantee of fresh, quality cooking - thanks Chef!) 
All staff were amazing, very friendly and smiley. 

A lovely table served full English at breakfast (cereals/toast etc also available) 

Overall excellent value, excellent atmosphere! 

(Sorry we took the Remote Control - though we did bring it back once we realised!)

Wonderful 

Bit deceptive from the outside. looked tired and noticed a ripped seat in 
the bar(like British Rail!) 

Had lunch first, a Porterhouse steak, presented very well

Once in the room, all mod cons, lovely lay out, great decor and a free standing bath in the room. Only fault was the kettle lead just reached the connection to the mains on the edge of the table, Health & Safety would not approve! 

Comfortable bed, breakfast was slow but worth the wait.  

Satisfactory one night stay

I looked at the beautiful pictures of this hotel looked better than the Hilton.. oh how wrong was I!! Lulled into a false sense of security., our room was like something out of the Geoffrey Dharma movie.. my 12 yr old son said Is this a brothel!!

Absolutely horrific.. totally unacceptable only newly renovated rooms shown on the website., I wouldn’t put my dog in it

Had Sunday dinner there as part of my birthday celebrations, First Class, there was nothing to fault so we've booked  take the family there on 11th December for a Christmas meal. Really looking forward to it

Best Sunday Dinner in Coventry 

Can't complain at all, after seeing some quite negative reviews.. this is our second stay within a few months due to visiting family in Coventry.
Room very clean, linen and towels spot on.. nothing bad to say. Great value for money 😊

I cannot comment on the meals as we ate out but restaurant looked lovely.

Second stay - very happy!

Rooms are NOT as shown in the photos. Photographed are rooms which are half modern and of good standards. We received a very dated and EXTREMELY VILE room! 

Had we not arrived so late at night, tired, with a 8 month old baby I would have moved! I had prebooked a cot, and even with prior warning and a late arrival we found there was no cot in the room. The wallpaper was ripped in various areas and stained, there was large damp marks on walls/wallpaper. The towels were dirty (brown stains!), broken tiles in the bathroom and black mould along the edges of the bath. The kettle which I was reliant on making baby milk had some sort of brown disgusting smelly dirt in it and was stained. Thankfully had ready made bottled milk I used instead!) 
I couldn’t even let my baby down to crawl about as the carpet was so stained and dirty. I held her on the bed for the duration of the stay! £100 down the drain! I’d rather have slept in the car! 

Do not stay here!
