The Haymaker Inn has a lot of character and a welcoming atmosphere.  Our glasses of beer and cider were excellent - The Landlord knew his craft  and his advice was very helpful in making the right choices. The food was tasty and the portions were very generous. Great value! 

Great beer - Great food

The choice of food and drink was perfect, proper English Pub at its best! Loved it. 
We're going back this week for more. The staff were lovely and we've had a most lovely evening, made us and the dog welcome. 

Delicious, food drink and ambiance

A great traditional village pub, very welcoming and dog friendly. Food all cooked fresh to order and very tasty. Good selection of pub games to pass the time aswell, would definitely recommend and visit again

Had a short break for two nights at the Haymaker Inn, the bedroom was clean and tidy, staff and owners were very accommodating. Very nice breakfast and the same applies to the evening meal. Dogs were made very welcome which was a big bonus to our stay. We shall definitely return. Thank you Carrie Jason & staff.

 

Well worth a stay.

We stayed here as a stopover and we both felt very welcome and relaxed during our stay. Everything was lovely including our room, evening meal and breakfast.  Our little dog was also made to feel very welcome and everyone was really friendly. 

Very welcoming

Three of us went for lunch. It is a pleasant pub but the food was not very good. We were offered a choice of braised steak or chicken curry. I opted for the braised  steak  while my friend chose the curry, another chose the burger, We were told that there would be a wait as everything was being cooked from fresh. That was a huge stretch of the imagination. After a while I was told that there was no steak left. This might have seemed like a reasonable excuse if the pub was busy but there appeared to be only one other couple eating. I was left with little choice so I chose the chicken curry.  What appeared on my plate was a very unappetising sloppy mess.
With pubs struggling to find good chefs, the Haymeker definitely failed in the search.

A huge disappointment

Fabulous value for money! We were a big table for Sunday lunch at 2pm (an earlier sitting is at 12 noon) and had a choice of roast beef or pork, and some other options that I didn't properly listen to once I'd heard beef.
The food came out quickly and on hot plates with big dishes of roast potatoes and a variety of vegetables. We had carrots, red cabbage, green cabbage and cauliflower. The gravy was delicious and we got plenty of extra.
We all chose puddings from the board and they were all delicious. There were three chocolate choices and only one other so it may have been nice to have a greater range but it's hard to criticise when two courses cost £12.50!
Service was excellent.
Really recommend Sunday lunch.

Amazing Sunday lunch!

We have found this gem of a pub, The Haymaker inn in Wadeford.  We enjoyed fabulous food and the staff were very friendly. There was a great atmosphere. We would definitely recommend.
Very reasonably priced. 

We have found this gem of a pub

We had lunch here and sat in the pleasant garden area. We ordered 2 Haymaker burgers and a mushroom stroganoff. The food was very tasty and well presented. The local lager was very good too. Would highly recommend.

Had lunch here on August Bank Holiday

3rd visit, but how disappointing,  Stilton and mushroom sauce, was Stilton with mushrooms!  You could choose seasonal vegetables or salad, so we asked for peas for me and baked beans for my partner instead of veg or salad.  When we looked at the bill we had been charged for them, which I think is just disgusting.   Won't be going back.
