Really enjoyed the location of the apartment. We literally walked out of the apartment block side door, approx 20-30 feet to a foot bridge which took us over to the road behind the Norwegian church. In essence a minute leisurely walk to all of the Cardiff bay restaurants. Made a mad dash for Pizza express (in the pouring rain with no umbrellas or coats with us) for mains and cadwalders for ice cream after.

The apartment also had underground parking for 1 car included in the cost of the rental. This was really helpful as we knew the car was secure but also had easy access to it without walking 10 mins to get to it and not worrying about ensuring we had paid for it. Apartment also well located near to the a4232. This allowed me to meet up with friends at IKEA (5 mins from the apartment) & travel north to the valleys. This was great as I was able to avoid the city centre traffic. I was also able to take a 5 min walk to Cardiff bay train station to get the train into town. Bus stop also near by. Would recommend the train even though you need to change at Cardiff queen st- even could just get the train to/from there rather than Cardiff central as shops round the corner from queen st anyway. 

Apartment itself was well appointed. Beds were comfy, kitchen well kitted out. Washer/dryer for clothes was helpful. However, I wanted to dry 1 or 2 things that can't go in the tumble dryer such as tops (nothing too heavy). I went to use the towel Rail and it fell forwards into my hand. Upon investigating further I found that this was because the towel rail was not screwed into the wall at the top. This was a minor annoyance as I was then unable to use the towel rail for its intended purpose as I was afraid of breaking it fully.

On night one of our stay, a storm
Happened. We quickly noticed that the window vent in the master bedroom was broken which meant the wind whistled into the bedroom loudly which kept us awake. This didn't happen in the other bedroom where the vents were working properly. 

My big concern with this apartment though was the lack of proper secure locking mechanism on the door leading to the balcony. It was a simple turn to open the door. Our 3 year old thought it was hilarious to defy us and open the door herself and run out unto the balcony. This meant that when my husband was at work and I was on my own with her, I had to wait til she was asleep to use the toilet or make her sit beside me so I could see what she was doing. The balcony has waist high sides (I'm 5ft 3) but still my daughter if she had decided to could easily have pulled the balcony furniture over to the edge of the balcony and tried to do some gymnastics. The consequences do not bare thinking about. So it basically meant I had to supervise her all of the time she was awake and ensure that when she was sleeping, her bedroom door and the door leading to the lounge area were both tightly shut. They were fire doors which she struggled to open. I just feel that adding a proper lock to the balcony would be a much safer option. 

Apart from a few niggles and the balcony door mechanism, we had a great time and would highly recommend this apartment and hope to return at some point in the future.

Well appointed, fab location

what a pleasant surprise- great location between the city centre and the bay on the riverside. spacious apartment with wrap around balcony. All you need for a fab weekend away. reasonably priced as it could easily sleep 6. Leigh , the manager, helpful on arrival, and really informative. Highly recommended and will return here for sure.
