My most recent visit to Cambridge was at the end of May over the bank holiday weekend, I was traveling with my family so rather than book a chain hotel we opted for somewhere with a family room and Warkworth House fitted the bill.

On arrival I was greeted by the owner who kindly gave me all the information about the property and also a parking permit so we could park on the street outside during our stay.  We gathered our bags from the car and headed to our room which was at the top of the property.  We had booked a family room and were very pleased with the room which we had been given.  Two double beds, a lovely ensuite with walk-in shower, plenty of towels and toiletries, hanging space (with hangers), a desk, fridge plus tea and coffee making facilities. 

We didn’t spend a lot of time in the room but we did have a good night’s sleep.  It was quite a hot night but the shutters on the windows allowed us to keep the window open and it was surprisingly quite considering the central location of the property which is in a residential street just opposite one of the large parks within the city and only a ten minute walk to the city centre.  

Breakfast was served in the basement which also houses a large sitting room for guests to use if they so wish.  Breakfast which was included within the price is a continental buffet along with a cooked breakfast off the menu. Most of the produce is locally sourced and it’s not just the usual full English or a vegetarian option, there are other choices available such as avocado and smoked salmon on sour dough.  The food which we ordered was served piping hot and tasted great.

We only stayed the one night but we had a very comfortable stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, the owner and other staff members were very friendly and the location is great.

Comfortable stay and great location

I booked a single room for one night when attending a Saturday-evening function in Cambridge. I arrived around 4:30pm and was greeted promptly and cheerfully.The room was clean, comfortable and in a very good state of repair.

The en-suite shower room was well-equipped and sparkling. Plenty of hot water and a modern shower.

Given the central location, I was able to walk to and from my dinner engagement in around 10 minutes. I was able to park overnight within 5 minutes walk of Warkworth Terrace (not cheap - but nowhere is in central Cambridge ...)

Excellent breakfast - I left after taking time to enjoy a coffee and read the morning papers in the communal lounge.

Highly recommended for bed and breakfast - and plenty of places on the doorstep to eat out.

Comfortable, Central and Great Value

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights whilst having a girlie break in Cambridge. We had a warm welcome from Mrs Collins and a lovely room with everything you could hope for. The b&b is within walking distance of all attractions and the sightseeing bus stops at the top of the road.We walked from the train station which is about a 15-20 minute walk. Breakfasts were fantastic and really set us up for the day. One of the better b&b's we have stayed in. Thankyou to all concerned.

Brilliant Place

Very well appointed room, nice location – 15 min walk to the station, 10 min to Cambridge old town, but first of all – excellent service. Non-intrusive, always present. Abundant breakfast. Would absolutely stay again.

Perfect

Nice and clean room with a very comfortable bed, quiet neighbourhood. The staff was friendly and breakfast was tasty and filling. After staying in countless soulless chain hotels all over the world I have really started to appreciate small B&B’s and family-run guesthouses. They honestly care about their customers.
