Snowdon Inn is a pretty rural campsite, with well spaced out pitches, and a great pizza cafe next door.

Ted the manager, was great, and made helpful suggestions about swimming and paddleboarding on the river. He also lent us two canoes, which was brilliant fun - and the route amongst the bushes and plants felt like a real adventure! 

The fire pits are a  great addition too.

There are 2 loos and 2 showers - which were perfectly fine for a rural campsite - and there was never a queue.

Amazing pizza, I had the spicy one.

Best pizza in Wales and the best pizza I’ve had in 22 years of life.

Beer was decent too.

The best pizza of ALL TIME! 🐐

Lovely campsite set in a wild meadow, we booked for one night at the last minute and the owner was really friendly and helpful. When we arrived the owner told us about a part of the river which was good for swimming and that we could use the canoes on site to paddle up the river (unfortunately we ran out of time to go canoeing) the swimming spot in the river is lovely but very deep so children definitely need life-jackets etc. which I hadn’t brought for my daughter but there were a group of children having a wonderful time on paddle boards who were more prepared with wetsuits and life jackets. The washing up area, showers and toilets are really clean and the showers are hot. There are also road swings hanging off an old tree in a wild meadow. Dog friendly also which is a bonus!

Beautiful riverside campsite with lovely views

We were made very welcome by Ted, the owner who was very helpful throughout our stay. The facilities were constantly clean. The pitch was a little dry because of the very hot weather that we experienced (2nd week of August 2021) but was clean and spacious, There is a small river running alongside the campsite with a great pool for swimming in (with a ladder for access and a life ring). Ted keeps two Canadian canoes that can be used for a trip down the river which was a real adventure. A very rare Lilly, a 6 nest heronry, otters if lucky (we believe that we saw one at dusk. The highlight was a view from our tent of Snowdon and a super full moon rolling up the side of the mountain as it rose for the night. Better than a firework display. We will come back again. Camping at Snowdon Inn - A wonderful location

Campsite is inaccessible in anything other than a 4x4 due to the massive potholes and poor maintenance of the access road, the owner is very angry and is regularly arguing and barring honest decent campers. Dont bother with electric hookup unless you want an electric shock



Grottier than pontins with an angry owner

Heard several people saying the owner had an attitude problem, after being a regular for a few years his attitude finally shone through. Seeing him dragging his dog around the site by his neck then baring people for challenging him. He will end up with no customers.
The site is very run down, access in anything but a tank or landrover is impossible due to the potholes.

Great little campsite. Ted the owner was really friendly and accommodating. We booked late for a night during the early May bank hol weekend and he still managed to fit us in and sort us out with electric hookup for our van. 
The campsite is quiet, has amazing views and an “off grid” feel to it. The river is on your doorstep and there were paddle boats for campers to use. There are 2 showers + 2 toilets which were kept very clean. It is correct that on Fri + Sat you can’t use the showers from about 4pm - 8pm but this was clear on the website and it wasn’t a problem.
Had pizzas and beer from the cafe on the site. The staff there were wonderful too and cooked ours last + kept them warm as we weren’t getting back from Snowdon until 9pm. 
Can’t fault anything about it. Would definitely come here again.

Great little campsite

Weekend camping / walking on Snowdon. 

Very rude, abrupt welcome soon as we arrived.
The owner really needs people skills and treat customers with a warm welcome, rather than instigate bad feeling. To which I had to step in to the conversation and ask the owner to calm down, his attitude totally was out of order.

On top of this there was a sign in the toilet / shower block (which I have uploaded as a photo here). It stated.

"Showers
Due to an electrical issue, we have to choose between Pizza ovens & Showers.
Pizza Won.
So between 4:15 - 8:30pm Fri &Sat Showers are not turned on, Sorry"

So after 8hrs of tough walking / day in bad conditions over Snowdon, to come back to the camp site and see that sign, is an absolute joke. Peak time from returning from walks and cant use them.

I confronted the owner and asked if this was a prank, and from his nasty response it clearly was not. Personally, I see showers, just like wash basins and toilets, these are basic amenities that should be provided when ever you need them, without any conditions, especially selling pizza to the general public. 

The owner said that "the sign was funny and everyone thinks its funny and i'm the only one to ever complain about it" This i find hard to believe, as all persons in our party were unhappy about this. I offered the aggressive owner the option to ask the rest of the party if they thought this was funny, after the tough hikes, but he bluntly refused the open invitation.

We had a table booked for 7pm in llanberis, which meant no shower again. 

Clearly its not an electrical issue as it states on the sign, the days and time of the issue regularly occurring. Sounds more like an electrical installation / distribution issue., but If there is a genuine electrical issue, possibly the safety, urgently needs an investigation by a qualified professional. 

100% will not return the this literally SHOWER of s@@t.
Now that's funny.

ps. Buy a book on manners and advertise your sign on your website so people know, when they book. I dare you!!!!

Camping - Impolite owner from the start ,  pizza but no shower

Stopped here for 3 nights with friends, the fields are well looked after, the facilities are well kept. It has the best views of Snowdon and views down the Llyn Cwellyn lake. The owner is friendly and chatty, the pub is a short walk up a footpath. We'll be returning before the end of the year.

Fantastic Campsite

Great location for back to basic camping, everything is kept clean and tidy by the owner Ted, good warm showers and clean toilets, I would highly recommend this campsite in a perfect location by the river with stunning views of the mountains and hills.
