Stayed here for one night as location and price was good for us during the commonwealth games, wasn't expecting much from the hotel but it was pretty bad. Looks like it has shut up from the outside, the taxi driver who dropped us off in the evening couldn't believe it was actually accommodation. Had to phone hotel to get them to open door when we arrived. Room was very small with a small portable tv that could hardly get any reception, bed was up against the wall and room was very hot. Receptionist was friendly. As it was only one night it was ok and was close to train station back into Birmingham but I wouldn't stay again.

Run down hotel

The hotel room smelt of stale cigarettes. The bathroom was in a bad state and towels were not provided. The walls had things smeared all over them. Had to ring a buzzer to get in to the lodge when we arrived. Staff were friendly however it is not a very clean hotel!! Quite expensive to get to the city on the night out.

Avoid

Filthy outer building, extremely rude and insincere receptionist.

When I made the booking, I emailed to explain we would be paying cash when we arrived.

Got a text to say that card was rejected & to get in touch - left an answerphone message with name & number to remind them we were paying cash on arrival.

Got a very bolshy receptionist saying I should have replied by email - the text did not indicate this & only took me back to the main website to book by card when paying cash - and furthermore did not believe a) I had rung until I showed them my phone with the dialled time and b) then told me they don't bother with answerphone messages!

Then after sulkily sorting us with somewhere else to stay, telling us it 'was only a few minutes drive away' we explained we didn't drive and got a very snarky 'er get a taxi then' then gave the absolute most insincere 'sorry' I have ever heard in my life!

I left wanting to torch the place to the ground, both for their utmost awful manner & the dingy dirty look of the place.  Thanking my lucky stars about where we did end up instead.

FURIOUS, Don't stay here!!!!!

Bad lodge, dirty unsafe carpark, it was not worth the money it's unfit for prisoners even homeless, I recommend it's taken off of booking. Com and closed down, very poor, I would rather sleep out on the streets than in there, when looking online the pictures must of been taken some time ago

Terrible

This place was disgusting dark dank dirty smelly. It is do outdated . Car park is a dumping ground rubbish old cars .we were told it is frequented by prostitutes so overall the vibe is not good. The only positive point is bus stop opposite takes you into town

-Poor standard of maintenance of parking lot
-Bed cover was not clean visible stains on it
-Radiator had to be turned on using a plier caused it was so stiff 
-The room smelt like a public toilet 
-There was water leaking on the floor in the toilet 
-Spiders and bugs in the bathroom 
-Carpet looked horrible needed changing

Unacceptable state of cleanliness and hygiene 

A group of us were booked to stay here for one night in Birmingham for a stag do. We’re a average group of guys, just needed somewhere to sleep for the night, we weren’t after anything special. Pulled up into the car park to be greeted by a 5 gallon oil drum / burner which I can only assume had been used by the local unfortunate homeless guys to keep warm. In fact, as I write this I’m even considering it was being used by other guests who had turned up, seen what a dive it was and decided to stay in the Car park instead. Personal favourite of mine was the red and green painted tyres which were littered along the path to the reception. After a quick chat amongst ourselves leant up against a black Mercedes in the car park which had a window put through, and its alloy wheels missing, we decided to not even attempt to fulfil our booking and we moved on to a local travel lodge, which for a extra £10 more than the prime lodge, provided a nice reception, a secure car park and a window which didn’t have any bars on it! Not all of our party saw the lodge so we made a quick de tour on the way home to show then why we didn’t stay. When we arrived there was 2 guys sleeping in a van in the car park, I can only assume they also had a booking that night but thought better of it and stayed in their vehicle instead! I’d avoid this if I was you, I can’t think of any reason why anyone would choose to stay here. 

Absolute dump. 

Staff aren’t consistent or polite, the TV in the room didn’t work, we didn’t get any coffee like it claimed on their website in our room, it was freezing as the heater wasn’t on. Would not recommend at all.

Worst Hotel I’ve ever been to

Fantastic place and great service from Lamin - he made us feel very welcome and would definitely recommend! Definitely coming back again, nice beds, great location and professional service from all the staff at Prime Lodge. Thanks again

Great stay

Thanks to Lamin for making us feel welcome and helping us get set up in our room. Perfect location as a 10 min drive to the centre. Will certainly be back, thanks to Lamin and team for making my stay ecstacy
