We arrived after hours but Julie was there welcoming us. With her warm personality plus providing us with info on what to see and restaurants, Julie is an excellent host. The location is so convenient to Bath and the room very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and have recommended it to our friends.

Lovely place to stay ,clean and tidy rooms ,few minutes from Bath center  really nice owner ,very kind and friendly ,will stay again if we visit Bath again ,everytthing was only a few minutes away ,plenty to do and easy to find all the places to go

Avon Guest House Bath

We stayed here for 2 nights in room 1 and was so disappointed as reviews are really good for this place,our room was like staying in a little old bedsit had a fousty old smell, room was small,all other rooms look much better

Owner friendly and extremely helpful. Room was lovely, couldn't fault a thing. And the dogs are nice too. Location is good. Not sure what else to say to use the remaining characters count, other than, I'd recommend you stay here, point of note breaky no longer offered

Outstanding 

Another wonderful stay at the Avon Guest House. My go to place in Bath! Super close to the centre of town yet also close to the delightful Widcombe high-street with its independent shops, pubs and restaurants. 
Spotlessly clean and lovely fluffy towels.

Returning happy customer

The Avon guest house is a great place to stay, not far to walk to the centre of the city, parking is very handy, Julie is a great host very helpful with places to go and see, also places to eat we can not wait to go back.

Great stay

I have stayed at Avon Guest house on numerous occasions. It is in an excellent location, only 2 minutes walk to the city centre. There is parking available too which is fantastic with it being so central. Julie always greets us with a warm welcome and ensures we have everything we need to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The guesthouse is 2 minutes walk from both the river and the canal and only 5 minutes walk to Widcombe High Street with its lovely cafes and shops and pubs serving good food. Plenty of places to chose from for breakfast locally. Highly recommend for a cosy stay in the centre of Bath.

Rooms very dusty wall paper peeling off. No breakfast. Towels Threadbare We would 
not stay here again the price is very high for the service or lack of it.As our room was on the main road we had to keep the window closed due to the noise, so the room was very hot.We had to ask for extra coffee,clean towels and toilet paper.We found another guest house that provided breakfast,and cleaning rooms daily for the same price of £98.0 per night

Very  unhappy noy value for Money

We have just come back from a 4 night stay at the Avon guest house, we found it very convenient having parking and being able to walk into city centre very quickly, Julie ( owner) was very helpful in every way and nothing was too much trouble, there is so much to do around bath, lovely walks and great shopping.

Very chilled place 

After having our holidays booked last year cancelled we decided that we would go away in July especially as it was my husbands 60th birthday. We booked the Avon Guest House as part of our break and my husband phoned a couple of weeks before to arrange parking as requested  explaining that we would be having lunch at the Hare and Hounds at 12 o'clock. The owner told us to call when we were about to leave and she would let us know what the situation was, great. So we phoned, we were told check in was 3pm (yes we knew that we were not looking at checking in just doing as asked and calling to see about the parking) We were told that she had a life and was entertaining her friends and check in was 3pm, We found parking opposite and meet a young couple from London with their cases we got chatting and they said that they were also booked into the Avon and had knocked on the door to see if they could leave their cases (before check in) and have a walk into Bath, not unreasonable, most people do but was told no, she was entertaining her guests. At this point we were very close to going home but decided not to. On arrival we were greeted nicely, in total contrast to my earlier communication. The location of this guest house is brilliant just a short walk from everything, our room OK, bed linen clean but shabby, towels 2 acceptable the rest were grey and rough, being on the top floor may have contributed to the fact that the toilet did not work properly. We had booked this accommodation through booking.com and I did do a review mentioning the call and response we had from the owner Julie. She sent me a message saying that the comment was meant in a jokey fashion and she was saddened that we had taken it in the wrong way !! sorry we were phoning to ask about parking and yes you were very rude to us
