The Malthouse

Stayed here with my wife for one night while visiting Crufts at the NEC. This location was ideal, a short drive from the NEC and in a very rural area. Plenty of room to park alongside the house. We had a great welcome and short briefing. The whole building was very clean and decorated/furnished to a high standard. A very short distance away is a pub serving great food. After a quiet and peaceful sleep, we were treated to a great breakfast, cooked to order. After breakfast we returned to the NEC, a short drive south, avoiding motorway traffic. We would not hesitate to return to this property and highly recommend staying here.

I can only comment how lovely a property and location of the Malt House B&B is. Stayed here for one night for our 1st anniversary and it was so lovely didn't want to come back to the city.
Steve and Lorraine were both very welcoming and won't hesitate to come back again. The property is suitably set with country views as far as the eye can see, very peaceful and if you need time out, this is ideal. It's within easy reach of motorway m6/m42/m1 and only three miles from Atherstone itself.

We stayed in the deluxe room, which is very spacious, cosy, very clean and beautifully furnished, the bed was very comfortable and considering I suffer with my back slept very well. The bathroom is ensuite with a lovely stand alone bath which we could've stayed in for hours and separate shower, again aesthetically pleasing.

We decided to eat at super country pub called the Rose Inn, which is about 5-10 mins away in car, a very quaint spot, complete with duck pond, which I can imagine would be idyllic in fairer weather. The food is wholesome, plenty and very well cooked and I can definitely recommend one of the homemade pies... you won't be disappointed for those with big appetite. There is also a very nice Italian restaurant nearby should you prefer something more refined. 

There is also plenty of sightseeing and things to do, within a convenient distance such as Twycross Zoo, Hartshill Hayes Country Park for scenic country walks, Plantasia which is an animal park. For those that want the bright lights then Birmingham is also not far too travel. Stratford upon Avon, Leamington Spa and Coventry also within easy reach.

Going back to the Malt House, all I can say is we had a lovely stay, the only slight grumble is if you prefer a full English breakfast there is an additional £7 per head, but no big deal as you have the choice of a buffet breakfast, toast, cereal, porridge etc which was more than sufficient. 

I am sure if book here, you will have a lovely stay at this very welcoming accommodation.

This was a high quality, tastefully decorated house.
It had a peaceful aura and we know we shall be returning.
Quiet. Comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts.
We had an adjoining little sitting room with a comfy cord sofa.
The bathroom was spacious and we enjoyed several hot baths.
The attention to detail everywhere was pretty and interesting to look at.

Stayed here over the weekend for a wedding. The owners were very helpful and allowed us to have an early check in so we could drop our things and finish getting ready before the wedding. Everything was nice and easy and we booked directly with them which worked out a little cheaper and it means the owners get the full amount. Very clean, the room (which was more like an apartment) was lovely and well decorated. Excellent B&B!
