Just recently returned from spending 3 days over the new year at this exceptional place. I’m lucky to have traveled and stayed all over the lakes but this place will take some beating. We travelled with a small mini yorkie dog . From booking months in advance the communication was excellent . The Host Alison was so welcoming and friendly and went above and beyond during our stay. Free parking permit included ( which could be used in other locations) The breakfast was excellent and catered for everyone needs. The rooms were spotless and very well presented and cleaned daily. The ambiance of the place had a calm and relaxed atmosphere. You also qualify for discounts in many bars and restaurants on presentation of your discount fob . 
Overall an amazing stay and hopefully to return in the very near future. 

Open honest opinion 

A return visit and as before greeted with a smile by a wonderful host, check in was quick and easy the room clean tidy and well appointed with free wi-fi. Parking is included with a pass that covers several car parks in the area and across several other car parks in the south lakes which is a bonus. Breakfast was fantastic and sets you up for the day walking exploring or just chilling. Lyndale guest house is perfectly situated 10 mins walk either to the jetty at Waterhead or Ambleside town centre. I can highly recommend a stay at the Lyndale guest house

Birthday break

Just had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous guest house with our 2 dogs, fantastic location, lovely spacious contemporary room, fantastic bathroom.  We were provided with a parking permit for a nearby car park. 
A wonderful host providing a delicious breakfast and daily room clean, we simply couldn't ask for more! We have stayed in many places throughout the lakes and this is definitely up there with the best. We were blessed with a week of fantastic weather for September! We will definitely be back and can't wait to return!

Fantastic place!

We have stayed at lyndale several times and it is first class. Alison is a brilliant host. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Ambleside. The bedroom was very clean and the breakfast was amazing. We have already booked for next April.

Best place to stay in Ambleside

A very warm welcome  from Alison at the lovely Lyndale guest house.Its a well appointed guest house ideally located between the lake and town with free parking. The room was smashing very clean and comfortable. the breakfast was one of the best i have had in numerous places in the lakes. I have already booked again and highly recommend a visit

Escape from Parklife

We had a 3 night stay, Alison is a fantastic and friendly host, made my wife and i welcome from the start of our stay. Breakfast was excellent, it is a dog friendly guest house which is an added bonus. A parking permit is given for the duration of the stay, you can park in specific car parks dotted around the local area which was a bonus. In an excellent location, it is only a few minutes walk to the centre of Ambleside, the guest house is directly opposite the garden centre. The room was cosy and clean, we had a great time and will be back with our pooch. Well recommended!

Hi just returned  from a 3 night  stay with my dog buddy  I have  stayed  in this guest house many times its always lovely and clean and very cosy alison  is a lovely  host and always  makes  it very  welcoming   I would always recommend lyndale  guest house  many thanks  will be back  very  soon  and the breakfast is  very  good  christine and buddy the dog xx

Just had a 2 night stay at this lovely guest house, which is situated less than 5 minutes walk from the town centre.
Alison the host straight away makes you feel at home, my wife and I stayed in room 1 which is on the first floor and at the rear of this very grand guest house.
The whole place is spotlessly clean, the room was large and the bed was very comfortable,  the full English breakfast topped off a great stay, we will definitely be back.

Great place to stay, top marks Alison 

A lovely guest house in a great location just a 5 minute walk to either the town centre one way or Ambleside Pier the other. A parking permit is supplied for a car park just a few metres away, which can also be used at number other car parks in the area (list provided).

Alison was a welcoming host with lots of local knowledge. As much as many accommodations in The Lake District say they’re pet friendly, Lyndale really is and we felt really relaxed about having our dog with us. After hearing that she hadn’t eaten her breakfast before our departure, a sausage treat was a lovely gesture. 

Cooked breakfast (served between 0800 & 0845) was delicious and service was friendly. 

Our room was spotless (especially as it is pet friendly) so would thoroughly recommend to those with or without dogs.

We will definitely return.

Booked for a family ensuite room, then my parents decided to come as well so contacted Alison who booked a double ensuite.  Arrived and our rooms were lovely. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely ..cereal, fruit juice,fruit salad and choice of cooked breakfast.  Alison is a lovely host
