After the Gorilla experience next planned stop was to see the Golden Monkeys and to do the Batwa walk. We were wondering what we could expect following the bumpy road from Kisoro to Lake Chahafi. Finally we arrived and we find a Paradise-like resort on the shore of little Lake Chahafi. Beautiful bungolows, perfect views, good food and really outstanding service made it worth to go the extra-mile.

Bumpy road to little paradise

We loved Lake Chahafi lodge! We went there because it's relatively close to the mountain gorillas and seeing them was our #1 priority. The Lodge was very relaxing. Martin is the waiter and organizer and canoe-er extraordinaire! He is there for anything you need. The rest of the staff is also friendly and so helpful. The beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept in. They turn them down for you while you're having dinner which seems unnecessary until you remember about the mosquito nets. Also it gets cool in the evenings in the mountains and they put hot water bottles in the sheets, so cozy! Food is delicious, setting gorgeous, awesome staff. Just go if you can. Seeing the gorillas is miraculous.

Lakeside Lodge is Cozy and Relaxing

Wonderful experience all around….very accommodating and friendly staff tend to all your needs! Dining and food quality was excellent. A really nice feature was “wake-up”coffee brought to the room in the morning.

Overall an excellent experience…..a must visit lodge & resort.

Amazing lodge on the lake!

Loved my stay at Chahafi - lovely rooms, great location just next to the lake, beautiful gardens which attract all sorts of birds, friendly staff and nice dining area (with roaring fire!). The staff deserve real credit for their welcome, and their dedication to cleaning our boots after muddy hikes. Loved the welcome drinks created by the resident mixologist. 

Stunning location

First impressions were a little worrying as not what I’d call a resort. However it is in an amazing location on the edge of the lake. What really makes this place so special are the staff. Amazing. They genuinely wanted us to have the best time possible. Would definitely recommend to others. Food was also great. We even had dinner by the lake at their request with a fire. Accommodation also fab
And clean. Highly recommend as the best place to be based for the golden monkeys. Thanks to the staff for making it so special.

We were the only ones here for a night, and the staff were all so friendly.  They introduce themselves when we arrived one by one, their name, and their position and help show us around the place.   We went for a walk into the village, which was right next-door with all the kids, following us, which was a fun cultural experience right outside the gate of the lodge.   In the morning, the manager took us for a boat ride around the lake.  We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast and the nice rooms.

Beautiful Lakeside resort

Such a lovely stay at Lake Chahafi Resort. I was the only one staying that night and felt totally taken care of by the staff. Such a beautiful location and the rooms were stunning, with lovely big beds.

Wonderful stay

We (4 people) have stayed in Lake Chahafi in September 2022 and we loved it! The hotel staff is great, the rooms are clean and spacious. The food was delicious and even their wine selection was amazing (which doesn't happen often in this part of Africa). All of us had very fond memories of our stay. 

The hotel located around less than an hour away from Mhaginga National Park and when I researched it, Lake Chahafi was the best hotel (while at the same reasonably priced) within the park vicinity.

Absolutely wonderful stay in Lake Chahafi!!

This was a wonderful place to stay, breakfast by the lake was a dream and boat trip on the lake was stunning, with beautiful birds and flowers everywhere. The staff really looked after us and made our stay one to remember.

My short stay at Lake Chahafi Resort was fantastic. Not only is it very beautiful there near the lake, but the hospitality exceeded my expectations. For instance, you were treated to tea or a delicious juice every time you came back from an excursion. Through the resort, I also did a boat trip and a hike overlooking the sister lakes, which was well organised and fun. My room, a beautiful cabin, was spacious and very clean. The staff was very professional and friendly. For instance, they hang your mosquito net for the night, change towels every day and provide a much appreciated hot water bottle for during the night. And last but not least, the food there is amazing, and especially the soup ;). I definitely recommend this resort if you are looking for a quiet and beautiful place with top service. It was a wonderful stay!
