Generally very friendly staff with one very unpleasant exception. The majority of staff DO NOT understand English! 

Better you speak Russian...I mean...in the hotel and elswere.

Food excellent and available practically the whole day.

Overbooking seams to be an occassional problem of the hotel. At least this time it heappened. But a desk manager fixed it next day and our new rooms were of promised size and quality.

Generally nice

Only good thing what i can say about hotel is location- right on the beach. Im not sure where to start: food - every single day same food !!! I do not mind if you have enough to chose from but there it was no choice !!! They grilled meat on Mon then for next few days it was used in salads , all covered in tomatoes etc only on Fri Turkish night was good! hotel is dirty, towels are dirty our bathroom wasn't clean for a week!!! They give you drinks in plastic cups , ice is luxury !!! Staff - only few guys at the reception were friendly - they helped us to change room and entertainment team rest of the staff very unprofessional!!! It was our first time in Turkey Im not sure of we ever come back!!!

Avoid!

Went with my family on holiday. Worst 7days in my life.
No avaliable sunbeds on beach, everyday the same food (no meat), rooms are dirty, toilets smells so bad,towels are dirty, staff doesn’t speak english, if you dont come first half an hour on dinner, there is no free tables. Juices are 50% water, 50% color. 
We asked for baby crib, they gave us dirty crib with no mattress. 
Hotel doesn’t deserve 4stars at all!! I went on other places in Turkey, everything was better than this.

NO RECOMENDATIONS!


WORST HOTEL EVER

We staied at this hotel in August as a couple. In first of all we paid for a sea view room, and we got a small room with a view on the terrace roof top. The bathroom was fine, but it was the smallest bathroom I ever saw.. The food was tasteless, it wasn't even salted.. And it was repeated, almost every day the same food... The pool was clean, but small. The beach.. Oh yes, the girl at the agency told us, that the beach is with fine sand.. It was kind of(a part of it.. But where you enter the water, it is horrible.. You must buy some swimming shoes.. The entertainment is ok, but it repeats every day the same songs..
It's more a family hotel. It was ok, an experience, but I wouldn't choose this hotel again.. Ohh, I almost forgat, that the cleaning girl left us without towels in the last 3days...I suppose, because we didn't left her a tips.. The internet doasn't work at all, I woke up at 5a.m in the morning to upload my photos. The good thing is, thst the staff speaks English 

Holiday

It was sold as a trip to a 5* hotel, but, in my opinion, it only deserves 3 (maximum - 4) stars. Why? Let's discuss it in more detail.
1. Rooms and the room service.
There are different types of standard rooms. I don't know how it works but this difference is really essential. We had to change our room as we were offered an extremely small one. It was impossible for three people to live there. We didn't have space at all. Moreover, our air conditioner didn't work. Can you imagine the situation when it's hot outside and you can't breath and sleep well? This was our case:). Well, actually, we asked to repair it, but they didn't manage to do it. That's why we insisted on changing our room. We were surprised and pleased when we realised that our new room was twice bigger (who knows why...:) ) and had no problems with the conditioner. And if we talk about the room service, I can hardly say that our room was cleaned. Looked like they simply made our beds and that was all. They forgot to give us new towels and left us without them. And every time we needed some toilet paper we had to go to the reception and ask for it. By the way, WiFi in rooms is paid. Free WiFi is available outside the rooms (it's slow).
2. Food and the restaurant.
If I was asked to describe the food there in a word, I would say 'potato'. Potato, potato and ... potato - fried, mashed and all the other variations. If you're found of meat or sweets, you can forget about it while you're here. You can taste turkey or chicken (which is more about bones but not about meat) and the amount of sweets is limited too. Well, you won't be hungry but you'll become tired of the food soon as there are also the same meals. Moreover, you have to be careful. Vegetables can be spoiled sometimes. And the most disgusting thing - the tables. They are almost never cleaned and prepared. In the evening you can hardly find a clean table or a clean fork. About pluses - ice cream deserves respect. It's given from 5 to 5:30 pm and there is always a huge queue. 
3. Service.
Okay, it's more about pluses. Managers are always ready to help you (especially, at the reception). But there was one manager who controlled the numbers of drinks that the guests ordered. It was weird... He used to watch everyone but the situation became better (no idea why, but he suddenly stopped doing it).
4. The pool.
It's possible to put up with the fact that it's small and not deep. The hotel isn't big and the pool isn't supposed to be large too. But it looked like the pool wasn't cleaned. It was full of dirt. Everyday. My friends and I caught an eye infection and we thought that it was because of the water in that pool. Actually, dirt is the biggest problem of the hotel. It's dirty everywhere...
5. The beach.
You can find a free sunbed without any effort but... the beach is full of stones. Prepare your legs - it will be painful to walk there. You have to be strong if you want to go into the sea. Or you can buy special shoes. And again - the water is dirty. There are a lot of garbage and it looks like nobody cares.
6. Animation team.
These guys really made our holiday better! We're thankful for meeting them. They do their best not to let the guests get bored: morning gym, aqua gym, pool games, zumba, darts, beach volleyball etc. You just can't stay away from all the activities because you want to get involved when you see Vika, Sasha and Lasha. If you like clubbing, you can join discotours and go to the club with the animation team. Interesting shows are held every evening (karaoke, bingo game, some competitions etc). If you like having fun, you will have fun and all the minuses will become less valuable. Animation for kids is perfect too. There is a mini-club and mini-disco at 8:30 pm. Masha makes children happy:). All in all, the animation team is wonderful!:)

It's not a 5* hotel

The hotel has very nice and friendly staff. Here you can really enjoy your being, feel satisfied and just chill.
Delicious food and the smell of the sea make every day the enjoyable and memorable.
I recommend this place for a family holiday at 100 percent. 
You can find here a swimming pool with of «blue lagoon» water color, bright and sweet cocktails, great music! What more  you need for a great holiday?)

Good hotel for rest

We have just returned from our 10 days holiday at Maya Hotel in Okurcalar. We have had a good holiday overall but there are few problems that should be addressed. Firstly, this is not a 5* hotel and it does not offer 5* hotel service. We have booked this hotel as a 5* but it is nowhere close to that. The hotel offers few extra things for its guests like slippers, toiletries, flat screen tv's but this does not make up for the rest. When we asked for the safe we have been asked to pay $20, but we didn't have dollars so the receptionist asked for £20 or 20 euro like its all the same to him. Being convinced that we are at 5* hotel we have asked why this is not for free as a normal thing offered at 5* hotel and we have been told that this hotel is economic.....and unfortunately this economic theme is seen in every aspect of this hotel operation. After doing some research I have seen this hotel being sold by different website as a 4* so marking this hotel as 5* is confusing and misleading to say the least. The best thing about Maya Hotel is its location, the hotel has got direct access to the beautiful beach with crystal clean water and because it is in the bay the sea is calm and warm. We have stayed in a twin room, good size and with a nice see view:) However the bathroom was very small, so small that in order to use the loo you had to squeeze yourself between the door and the sink! The hotel was kept clean and the cleaning lady was very good. In fact she was the only one there who would greet you with the smile and always working hard. Unfortunately I cannot say that about the rest of the staff at Maya. Most of the people working there looked like they don't want to be there or do not have any passion or interest in what their job was. I have never seen staff being so relax and slow at work.  Everyone with their mobile to use when not busy. At the time we felt like it is them who is actually on holiday over there not us.....After reading many positive reviews we were hoping for good holidays, many people were saying that the hotel offers nice relaxed atmosphere, but  what you quickly notice is mainly  people who work at Maya are so relaxed and to be honest once you adopt this relax attitude you can enjoy your holidays too and that's what we did.On our second day we went to get the beach towels only to be told that there is none left...we end up using our own for the whole stay. The breakfast was served at 7-10, with late breakfast till 10.30....not sure what late breakfast meant as one morning the coffee machine was switched off at 9.58am despite people still trying to get their breakfast. The quality of the breakfast and the poor selection was like a 3*hotel experience. One day the hotel has run out of butter....at least that's what I have been told by kitchen staff. Not what you would expect from 4*/5* hotel but we already knew why ....it was economic way of managing the hotel. Lunch and dinner were much better in terms of selection. Snacks at the pool were nice too. Funny thing....every day 10min.to 17 there was a queue formed by hotel guests waiting for ice creams to be served at 17pm:) as this was the only time people could get ice cream at all. Many websites describe this hotel as one having a pool, kids pool and a slide for kids - where in fact there is only one, rather small pool with kids area within. The garden area is ok, but calling it a garden is a stretch of imagination....few trees and plants. Almost every day you could notice that there are couple of hotel men out and about hotel area, members of management I would think, however never seen any interest from them in terms of what was going on at this hotel, almost like as long as it works there is need to do anything....really? All of them either on their mobiles or being busy eating during meal times. Staff eating with guests was something normal at Maya.....pool bar boy, maintenance man or a gardener helping them self from the plates at the snack pool area that's every day picture....not that I have something against that but it feels weird - you would not have a waiter that had just served you eating with you at the restaurant.....From the other hand the hotel does not bother its guests if not needed...there is not signs that you are not allowed to take food out of the dining area and people were left free to do what they wanted. The same with drinks....no limits:)
Overall we had a nice holiday, very relaxed. The hotel is clean but it definitely needs their management to make sure that the guests that are staying at the hotel are their priority.
The hotel has got small team of animation guys....mainly busy with kids....over 10 days of our stay never been approached by any of them. There is no schedule so you could see what is going on at what times. On our second or 3rd day we have seen volleyball going on and that was it....never seen it again....few times there was polo game but again with no consistency. The hotel does not have evening shows what is claimed on many websites. The animation team focuses on guests from Russia as the main nationality at the hotel, however there were people from Poland, Czech and UK too.....
Whoever decides to stay at Maya Hotel needs to go there with open mind and just enjoy the holiday:)

Beautiful location but few issues to work on....not a 5* hotel

I like its destination. Also service is very good.
This year I got hot travel here for just 170$ for AI for a week with plane :)
I suggest to visit this nice place.
I traveled with my little daughter, she liked animators and evening concerts :)

Very comfortable place for children

I have enjoyed staying at this beautiful hotel which has a good location, the room is very clean and good size which is larger compare to any privous hotel I have been.
Good breakfast with delicious food at lunch & dinner , the staff were very nice and polite and always helpful when ever you need them, I met one of the manager Mr Hasan Guler which he speaks very good english I founded him to very charming and helpful person which he helped us a lot and I would like to thank him for his help.
When I gave a chance to go back to Alanya for sure I will book the room with them again and I will recommend for all my friends too.

The beauty and good location of Maya World Beach Alanya

Eeverything was good, i don't have any minuses :) Good staff, good food, good rooms, clean everywhere, Just what i want to tell, the seaside is harmfull for feet, you have to wear water shoes. If i would have a chance, i would visit this hotel again :)
