I just finished a wonderful visit to Tunisia made special by a stay at Dar el Yasmine. The place is beautiful and the accommodations very tasteful. Helene went out of her way long before my trip to arrange touring for me. Also Helene and Mohamed were so accommodating and engaging. I will be back!

Would not stay anywhere else in Tunis

We had a wonderful stay at Dar El Yasmine! Helene and Mohammed were wonderful hosts from helping us with our taxi from the airport until our departure. The room was wonderful, quiet, even spacious. The entire grounds are lovely. The breakfasts were remarkable! Homemade jams and yogurt complimented delightful pastries and juices. We had a room with a small kitchen that allowed us to have an occasional meal there. As other reviews have noted, this spot isn’t in the most exciting neighborhood. Rather, this is in a residential area (with some nearby cafes and a grocery market in walking distance). We got between the B&B and the rest of Tunis via (very affordable) taxis using the Bolt app, which I recommend highly for getting around the city. With that in mind, the location was great since it’s about halfway between Carthage/Sidi Bou Said/beaches to the east and the medina/European city to the west. Rides were seldom more than 15 minutes and 5 USD/Euro. Moreover, Helene’s advice on what to see and how to visit all of Tunis’s fabulous sites was absolutely indispensable. We wouldn’t have had such a great trip without it. Next time I’m in Tunis, I’ll absolutely stay here.

Mohammed also assisted us in setting up a tour to the Roman ruins at Dougga, made good suggestions for restaurants and assisted us with logistics. In Tunis, using “Bolt”, (similar to Uber) helps with city transportation and he showed us how to download and use this system. We were very pleased with our stay.

A great find!

Tunisian hospitality and accommodation

This place is an oasis like in Tunis, located in a residential area close to everything you might need, cafes, snacks, restaurants  and shops and the guest house itself is very clean, green and calm and a real house of Jasmine .. Hélène and Mohammad were really friendly with us and invited us many times to have tea with them and their advices and recommendations were useful. The guest house is a family friendly place as well. The location is at a stone throw from the site of Carthage, Carthage airport, La Marsa and Sidi Bou Said and taxis are available around the clock thanks to the Bolt app.

Highly recommended

I had a very relaxing stay at Dar El Yasmine. The room was very comfortable and clean and had a terrace, breakfast each morning was delicious, the hosts Helene and Muhammad were very helpful and answered all my questions and provided recommendations for sights to see on the weekend and nice places to eat in. It is located between the the Lacs and La Marsa which was convenient for traveling to business meetings in different parts of the city. Finally, the wifi was very important to me as I was on a business trip and it never failed me.  Helene and Muhammad made me feel at home and I really felt that Dar El Yasmine was a home away from home rather than a Guest House. .

A home away from home

Avoid this place. It is very inconvenient. There are no restaurants, no grocery stores,no business of any kind close by. False advertising. Stay away from any place with the name of  Dar in it.owner falsely claimed air conditioning wasn't working, didn't offer to fix since it wasn't broken as I happened to check by chance minutes before leaving to airport. Room smelled. Bad and hasn't been cleaned for some time. Is not worth the price paid. Many of the services mentioned aren't provided. Breakfast is awful and tasteless and provided on the cheap. Flies were all over the place druing the day and mosquitoes at nights. Bathroom is very tiny and difficult to utilize.

This place is horrible. It is far from anything. You have to walk long distance to catch a taxi,no stores.no restaurants,or cafes near by.  They claimed that air-conditioning in my room wasn't working,but when I checked it it was working fine. They simply didn't want to spend  money to make me as a guest comfortable. It was extremely hot. My honest advice is stay away from this place. There much better and nicer places and less expensive. They demand payment in cash.

Stay away

Property is in residential area that is quite isolated. It's about a mile away from any business. There aren't any taxis close by.It is not worth the price charged. It's real rip off. Owners claimed that air conditioning wasn't not working,which wasn't the case, to save few bucks. You have to the correct type of currency for payment.  Room smelled musty, and dusty as if hasn't been cleaned for some time. Flies and roaches were problematic.
