Very good
22 reviewsI stayed here for my first night in Taipei on 2/7, and then once again on my last night on 6/7. I was first attracted by the price of the hostel when I was looking for a place to stay. Less than NT$400 a night with vacancy cannot be found everywhere. The hostel is close to the SongShan train and metro station, close to Rouhe night market, which means I do not need to worry about my stomach. I did not book the hostel, I just walked in and this hostel totally surprised me. Neat and tidy, ladies toilet with comprehensive facilities like hair dryer, cotton tip, like a toilet in a fitness centre. Another surprise is the private place the hostel offers in the room. The room with 4 bunk beds. After closing the curtains, each bed is like a private compartment with TV, a wall mounting folding table, a head lamp and an electric socket. The curtains are not light-penetrating so even you turn your light on inside, outside is still dark and you don't need to worry about disturbing the others. The TV is silent unless you plug in your earphones. All these are so smart designs to maintain a very quiet private environment for those who really want a rest. Every residents are given a room access card with a key to a locker inside the room. The locker is spacious enough for a medium size baggage. They also have a decent pantry area which provides teabags, coffee bags, water, etc. You can also cook inside. The wifi is good on my first night where my room is close to the reception, whereas the second night the signal was not stable as I stayed in a room further away from the reception. But the wifi is excellent in pantry. If you want me to state a complaint, one of it would be the smell of the toilet. Some areas have som urine smell. Though it is tolerable, it is not comfortable. Hope you can improve. Otherwise, this hostel is excellent for this value.
