9 of us booked rooms in this hotel for a night through our agent in India. We reached a house in a small lane. We were informed by the staff there that it wasn't The Saffron and that we were moved to this house! 
So we decided to go elsewhere. Our agent was stunned when informed about the chaos.
We met another family on this trip who went through similar predicament. They had booked their stay at The Saffron through Make my trip and they too were sent to this house!
 So guys be careful when you book this hotel.

Even allowed for 3 am check in! All wonderful.  Thank you very much. Just need to update sign so can see from road in the dark.

All that one needs in Colombo..a real clean friendly homily hotel.The owners are very decent and concerned people.They are extremely flexible willing to accomated all questions.The food is tasty and the Wifi is excellent all over.

A hidden gem..Stunning,Relaxed,Clean,Helpful

I have been staying in this place for the past seven months felt at home.I am in love with the location it is so peaceful.This hotel is nestled in the midst of nature you wake up with the call of birds.Thank you Ms. Dilrukshi and Anthony you both have been a wonderful host.

Pure Bliss beautiful place to stay.

First the positive things:
- They were flexible with breakfast. We had to leave at 6am and they packed us some sandwiches etc. to take with us.
- Dinner was delicious, but it took very long to prepare (over 1 hour). So order early!
- Air conditioning and TV were ok
- Internet connection was better than in many places we visited in Sri Lanka.

The negative issues:
- The Bookings.com price was in USD and they counted it in Sri Lankan Rupees with a higher exchange rate than our previous hotel on the same day. This we considered pretty unfair and had the impression they just wanted to make even more money on us!!
- Also the offered transfer price to the airport (4500 Sri Lankan Rupees) was a lot more expensive then the one we got from our driver (3000 Sri Lankan Rupees).
- The mattresses were very thin and the beds uncomfortable and noisy.
- The bath room was tiny and had seen its' best days...

Our room was upstairs and had to take a couple of stairs, so be careful with small children!

Not very high on comfort, but ok

After having stayed here, I think that I'd be inclined to call the hotel a guest house just due to it's size.  It is small but very friendly and comfortable.  It is certainly tucked away in a residential area so I would have the cab call for directions otherwise it will be challenging to find.  We arrived at 0200 due to a late plane but the owner met us and took us to our rooms which we thought was very nice.  Breakfast was tasty and hit the spot after a long day of travelling.  The rooms are comfortable and air conditioned which was great after a day of touring the city.  I took it down a notch as the bathroom was a bit old and the shower was quite chilly as the hot water disappeared as soon as the taps were turned on.  Apart from that, it is a nice quiet little place that is perfect if you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel off of the beaten track.

Nice Little Hotel

I stayed at this hotel for a week and I really enjoyed it. The room had AC, hot water and good wifi reception. I had the american breakfast and it was delicious. I would recommend this hotel to others since it was well priced.

Nice Hotel With Restaurant

I arrived late, there was someone there to greet me. I didn't stay long but would recommend this hotel.

Friendly helpful staff in a lovely old building

Anthony and Dilrukshi are fabulous hosts. They were helpful before arrival with information and suggestions, and really stepped up when travel plans had to drastically change. Great breakfast!

Lovely people

No facilities. Too far from the city colombo. Completely outdated. Needs renovation.
